Chicago ran Boston out of the park. They played high pressure defense and every time they got the ball turned into a full speed fast break. Chalupny and Masar constantly pushed forward. Boston never had any room to work. This was a fast paced game from both teams.

WNY played their normal attaching game and on this day they finished the two goals they needed to win. Adrian for WNY plays back to the goal target forward. In the first half, every time the ball went to her, she had not only the defender on her back, but a send defender immediately double-teamed her and gave her no chance to do anything with the ball, which stalled the Flash offense quite a bit. This was not happening as much in the second half, and consequently the Flash were more dangerous - and scored their two goals.

I think there were less than 2000 at the Flash game and less than 800 stayed for the Boston game. It's too bad - the level of play at both games was comparable to WPS. Saturday's final should be very interesting - Flash won the first two games vs. Red Stars this year - beating a team three times is hard to do.

Western NY takes the final in PKs. Chicago led from the 41st minute, but let in an equalizer in the 6th minute of stoppage time. Chicago had 1 PK blocked, 1 missed to give WNY 3rd champion in 3 leagues in 3 years.

No MVP or All-Star XI to be announced for 2012? Seems there should be something for the end of the season.

Just wait, the guy carrying the press release will be an hour late because he drove through Manhattan on his way.
