This wasn't a futbal game, but was a football game with a brawl. Check out Chris Henderson write up on allwhitekit.com Red cards/yellow cards/take outs. this stuff will come around.
LSU 3 Missouri 1 at Missouri. That drops Missouri to 4th and Tennessee, as of right now, is tied with A&M for 2nd
Just left the soggy game but Miami outplayed FSU by a huge amount. FSU has not played well in its last 3 games. Offense is totally dormant and today the defense was suspect and not becuase of the weather.
10/ 27 WCC Portland 3 - #18 Pepperdine 1 San Francisco 2 - #9 Santa Clara 2 . first result by USF against SCU of any kind ... ever.
The question is not so much why didn't Santa Clara win, but how did they surrender two goals? The last time USF scored against Santa Clara was 2003. Didn't see the game, but USF getting two goals in a game against the Broncos is simply not good.
There will be lots of upsets this year in the NCAA tournament. More than the norm. I expect quite a few upsets in the conference tournaments as well, but nothing is shocking there. The lower seeded teams have more to play for in the conference tournaments than the higher seeded teams do (when teams are fighting for their life to get an NCAA tournament bid).
Yeah, Mountain West starts on Wed. Bit worried about SDSU. They've done so well lately. Don't want them to crash and burn. I need a better place to see MWC standings. The conference website makes my computer freeze.
Yes, congrats to Sarah Barnes and GW. 1-8 for the worst A10 record in program history. Awful hire and it shows.
TCU 2, WVU 0. That's an 8 over 1, in the quarterfinal after WVU wins first big-12 regular season. Ouch!! "traveling the country" for soccer games sounds great until you need a big win in the post-season on a Wednesday night. Thanks football. WVU will now bump someone else from an at-large bid clearly...
WV's loss is stunning, but it may not knock someone else out from an at-large bid. Baylor and Texas Tech are locks for the NCAAs, like WV is. Those two teams are still alive in the Big 12 tournament and they play each other tomorrow in the semi. If the winner of that game goes on to beat the winner of Texas/TCU then this WV-TCU won't have major implications on other teams. WV, Texas Tech, and Baylor were getting in to NCAAs regarless of what happens in their conference tournament. However, if the Texas/TCU winner goes on to win the final, then that is a different story. There will be bubble teams praying that situation and similar scenarios do not play out.
Right...spoke too soon. As long as another "auto at large" team wins the Big12 AQ, none of the "bubble at large" teams would be affected. No question though that WVU has been unpredictable and will lose seeding for sure....making it more likely another good team will now be in their first weekend group...
Illinois (#48 RPI) knocks off Penn State (#3 RPI) 1-0 in the Big Ten tournament semis. That win boosted Illinois' RPI up to #40, while Penn State drops to #5. Win should also punch the Illini's NCAA ticket regardless of Sunday's result vs. Michigan-Ohio State winner.
UCLA loses its second game in a row (after having been previously undefeated) to USC 3-2 with 3 seconds left in the first OT.
