Memphis loses to UTEP and RICE by multiple goals. Any key injuries or GK problems or something? Seems odd.
Was able to take in this game. Rice did a nice job neutralizing Memphis offense by playing possession soccer. The Rice Coach(staff) should be commended. There comes a time when kick it and run gets old and unsuccessful. The Rice Coaching staff has decided to forego the kick and run for the possession game and it showed last night. Rice may not win the National Championship but they are going to be more successful and since the players have bought into possession they have had more fun! And who wouldn't want to be part of that? Go OWLS! http://www.riceowls.com/sports/w-soccer/recaps/101212aab.html
In keeping with the previous post, although I would not consider this an upset but might be a mild wow, Indiana's first win in 15 years against Purdue 3-0 last night. It surprised me when I heard it.
I was surprised by the number of years that Purdue has dominated the rivalry, similarly to the post before, as in "Wow, Indiana hasn't beaten Purdue in 15 years". So those teams are recuriting players who might not have been born the last time IU won.
Arkansas Little Rock finally won a game...3-0... presumably with assistant coach. Beat FAU...not a powerhouse, but given the records of the two teams, FAU would have been heavily favored.
If it holds up, Memphis is down 2-0 to Tulsa in the 83rd minute. I don't ever remember them dropping games like this (UTEP, Rice, Tulsa) and being shut out.
And Tennessee upsets Texas A&M at College Station 1-0 on Wilkinson's 6th goal of the year. Night filled with upsets in the SEC!
So Indiana didn't win that game. I must have missed something. I guess the team that moved on in the tournament was a split IU/Purdue squad then.
If you want to talk about history and records, you should be accurate. The game was a tie.you are right. Indiana didn't win the game. They won a PK shootout. It is the record books as a tie.
Sorry Mr. Worshipper, you are the gospel on just about every subject on this site. You must have been a coach. Ok everybody, it was a tie in the books. And I appologize to all you readers. I must be accurate. I will write that 150 times. But by your own account, IU "won".
