How are you swapping tickets exactly? Tickets will only come available around May. How does the changing of the names on tickets work via Fifa? It all looks so simple here but I see a lot of risks also.

 

No worries re names on tickets. Honestly asked every World Cup and never an issue.

Doing the swop is anther issue. I've arranged a swop with someone in Scotland (Hi Chas) and that will work easily enough. turns out we even know some people in common. Distance is small and post may even work assuming we get our tickets by mid May even late May. Worst case one of us could hop on a cheap flight.

Trying to do one with some body far away unless you are also attending each other's games will be much more problematic. It really depends on having the tickets in time. There is also a huge amount of trust involved.

 

That's the whole problem I think. Fifa delivers the tickets very late, only in May I read. Swapping a ticket with someone on a different continent will be risky. I understand what you mean with trust. For example you have a deal right now with someone for getting a ticket, but then the other person gets an offer he can't refuse for the same ticket (e.g. double the price). You only know in May for sure if you really get your ticket or not.

But I also read you can officially change names on the ticket via fifa. That way the transferred ticket can be picked up in Brazil by the new owner right?

 

I have 4x Cat3 tickets for Ghana v USA in Natal.

Looking to swap for tickets to Argentina v Bosnia in Rio.

Picking up tickets from FIFA for someone else can be done and I'm sure you will have people who claim they have done it successfully.

I've done it for family members with photocopies of passports and same surname. Normally they don't check too much and in South Africa once you had the correct credit card you were ok.

It is more risky. I'm not aware of a way of giving all your tickets to a new name rather than just changing the guest. I wouldn't bother changing the guest name once you have a valid ticket you'll be fine.

If buying/swopping with a stranger then much easier to swop actualt tickets. Then FIFA say mid May they have been much later - Japan was a disaster with tickets arriving after people left. The plan for South Africa was to distribute them but they struggled to get them ready in time.

With the stadium delays and late seating plans and if doing a deal try and have a Brazil fallback.

There may not be time to use International post or DHL/Fedek.

i noticed lots of tickets for swap, mainly game up north where it is a pain to get to and also lots of new members here buying too many tickets phase 1 and 2
i have only 2 game in belo and hope to get a few in rio, sao paulo, belo area. In gemany and south africa, i realised it is hard to travel too much. same as euro2012
