    Mexico fights down Germany
    [IMG]
Mexico mounted a fourth quarter comeback to beat Germany 22-15 in the day’s second game of the IFAF World Championship.

Trailing 15-12 with 11:05 remaining having led at halftime, Mexico tied a thrilling game with a field goal and then produced a rushing touchdown from Jose Reyes just before the two-minute warning. Linebacker David Aceves sealed victory in the Tivoli Stadium in Innsbruck with an interception with less than a minute remaining.

Mexico held a slim three-point advantage with a 10-7 halftime lead after defenses impressed and penalties took their toll on Mexico early in the contest.

“We knew the Germans were the European Champions, so we expected them to be a tough rival and Germany was very tough today,” said Mexico assistant coach Manuel Neri Fernández. “Every time we would have a big play, Germany fought back and challenged us again. It was a great game.”

CANADA OVERPOWERS FRANCE 45-10 IN GROUP B
    [IMG]

Canada overcame a spirited first quarter from France to triumph 45-10 in the second Group B game from Graz at the 2011 IFAF Senior World Championship.
France shocked Canada by taking a 10-7 lead as the Canadians suffered first night nerves on their world stage debut, but a second quarter comeback put the newcomers in the driving seat at the interval and they added insurance points after the break. Three Canadian quarterbacks - Mike Faulds, Josh Sacobie and Donnie Marshall - threw touchdown passes, with Faulds taking the team MVP award.

With all due respect, football isn't some foreign sport Canada imported so it shouldn't be a shock that they produce good players. Granted this is US rules football instead of 3 down Canadian rules, but Canadians have been playing football from day 1 back in the 1870s!

Big game starting up right now.

    Mexico vs. USA.

Only group game bigger will be Canada vs. Japan.

I wasn't too impressed with Canada's win over Austria yesterday. Japan will give them all they can handle I think.

I think Mexico has the horses to beat USA if the USA is having an off day today and Mexico has a great day. Better be careful.

Canada beats Japan 31-27 to reach the gold medal game against the United States. These are the 2 best north American football playing nations and where the sport originated so this is a natural pairing for gold.

I notice a couple BCS conferences are missing. I wouldn't mind seeing one missing, but the other is normally one of the top if not the top conference during the Draft.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I always want to follow these and find some streams online to watch them, but I always forget about them. Hopefully I'll be able to catch this final. I watched Junior Worlds a couple years ago when it was in Canton. A couple of Virginia Tech commits were the standout players including running back, David Wilson, who was the tournament MVP (I'm pretty sure Coach Beamer intended to redshirt him...). I think he had ~30 carries and 400+ yards during the tournament.

we sent who volunteered to go

The camp was open to any amateurs who filled out the application and showed up.

How many of those pampered BcS boys would play every other day for a week?
