Fifa thinks its the police of the world and loves to punish small countries.. I can go to my homeland say this chant or write it on my shirt and its perfectly legal. When Spain and Italy are doing money chants at black players fifa always looks the other way. I wonder why$$$

    Cromagnum,

First of all I'm not an idiot! Secondly Croatia has a history of being Nazi sympathizers and doing Hitler's bidding! so if history hurts that's too bad but the truth is the truth! And Fifa has punished Western European teams who made Monkey chance towards black players!

And speaking of money why is a World Cup held in Russia where black players and other people of color are brutally terrorized there as in other Eastern European countries??

Your are misinformed about our history and only read western generalizations. Yes we have a history under hitler as nazi puppets and that chant was used in ww2. What you don't read about is that chant is was started long before ww2 in the 1500s when the Turks invaded Croatia. Same chant was used during the war in the 1990s when the Serbs invaded Croatia. Za dom Spremni is not illegal in Croatia as it was established long before ww2. As one Croatian leader said today I think the burning of Croatian flags at a soccer game is a much more serious offense then a chant a man did after a soccer match where he was emotional and proud of his country. FIFA found nothing wrong with the burning of our flag hence the double standard.

Come off it mate, you`re having a laugh. That expression is associated with the Ustase and their massacres in WW2 and nothing you can say will change that. As for it being `perfectly legal`, that doesnt make any difference either.

A perfect comparison is a German could post on this thread and say there is nothing wrong with singing Sieg Heil (Hail Victory) when Germany win a match, that it goes back to the stone ages and is not illegal. The fact is it has obvious associations with Nazism and genocide against certain types of people which make it unpleasant to chant. You cannot expect us to believe you, no way. It was a Nazi sympathist chant. Period. And good that it has ended his career.

Let's stick to the topic at hand and not go any further about the origins of a chant. Thanks.

    Love this history lesson.
Good news that 2 of Croatia players now suspended including their top goal scorer. We need a good first match.
Yes, opening a new thread about the opening rounds would be a good idea. Somebody show me how to start a new thread.

In the Brazil forum, under the sub-forums space on the top right should be a button "Post New Thread". You can wait for a mod to start WC threads (since they eventually will) or you can start one now and a mod can edit/sticky it so it is more visible.

Germany admitted that their third uniform was inspired by Fla's jersey to give them good luck in Brazil later this year. Good move, @MatthausSammer

No offence, but the aesthetic of Flamengo doesn't suit the Mannschaft. I dislike both jersey designs. They should've gone back to the 2010 WC jerseys for their inspiration. Those were epic jerseys. Loved them, particularly the black-and-gold away jerseys.

My respect for Adidas has nosedived after these jersey designs. Don't tease me too much about it. But I guess Flamengo fans will have a team to root for in the final after we crash Brazil's party in the semis. :p

For all it's great midfielders, this Germany team has defensive issues! ! Germany will be in the final 4, but will not win the World Cup! !

Why do they need a "Trikot fur Rio" if they're not even going to play there? :p

I highly doubt......Just look at the goals they have conceded against the NT's recently ........They have serious problems with the defense. If Germany faces mediocre teams, i am still not convinced whether they will be able to keep a clean sheet or not.
