I haven't seen anything positive from this team that can be contributed to CQ but major mistakes in the lineup. He needs to explain the lackluster performance.

Come on. You think an Iranian coach would have been able to humiliate Bahrain 6-0?

iam from India.i have been a fan of IranNT right from the 2002 asian games ,supported them in every asian competitional though i have not followed the 3rd round of qualifiers, the ease with which iran qualified was really great. But in the final round i have been really dissapointed.tbh the last time i saw Iran play before the WCQ was back in the AC 2011.The one player i was really impressed with was Hadadifar, cant understand why he is not getting picked can anybody tell me more about him, looked really neat on the ball ,good passer, great on the eye.also cant understand why khalatbari never starts for Iran.he is easily the most skillful player youve got.can create something out of nothing.i would really like to know from Iranian fans why is it so

Hadadifar isn't in the team because we have much better players in his position. He had a really good game against UAE in 2011 that's why you remember him but overall he's not better than the likes of Karimi, Teymourian, Nekounam, Jabbari, Shojaei, Dejagah, etc. Khalatbari sometimes starts, sometimes doesn't. It really depends on CQ's initial formation. He would most likely start if we play with 3 forwards but if we start with 1 or 2 like we have been in the last couple of games he would sit on the bench as he's a winger and not a center forward. Thanks for being a fan, cheers.

But teymourian is probably a more defensive minded option. Also what i saw of Jabbari vs UZB wasnt something that great.Shojaei is probably out injured so may be he could have been given a go against a team that had come for a draw. Also another player from Iran was Arash Afshin,he looked very good back then, how is he progressing.Him and dejagah on either wings would be :p

That's just one game in which Bahrain was one man down for the whole game. We needed one of those goals -- just one -- against Qatar! :)

Our performance in the last three games against Albania, Uzbeks, and Qatar have been disappointing.

One positive note... despite having a super shaky defence, we havnt conceded goals.
Also, Iran has 4 points from 2 games, and thats not too shabby.

Afshin has potential but I guess he hasn't impressed CQ yet. I don't follow the domestic league too closely so I can't say how he's doing honestly. From what I remember though he wasn't very consistent much like our current center forward Ansarifard

CQ calls up 23 players against Lebanon:

    GK:
    Alireza Haghighi (Rubin Kazan, Russia)
    Mehdi Rahmati (Esteghlal)
    Rahman Ahmadi (Saipa)

    DF:
    Hossein Mahini (Persepolis)
    Mehrdad Pouladi (Persepolis)
    Jalal Hosseini (Persepolis)
    Maziar Zare (Malavan)
    Pejman Montazeri (Esteghlal)
    Hadi Aghili (Al Qatar, Qatar)
    Ehsan Hajsafi (Tractor)
    Hashem Beikzadeh (Esteghlal)

    MF:
    Ali Karimi (Persepolis)
    Javad Nekounam (Esteghlal)
    Ghasem Hadadifar (Zob Ahan)
    Mohammad Nouri (Persepolis)
    Omid Nazari (Angelholms, Sweden)
    Pejman Nouri (Malavan)

    FW:
    Masoud Shojaei (Osasuna, Spain)
    Mohammad Ebrahimi (Tractor)
    Ashkan Dejagah (Wolfsburg, Germany)
    Reza Ghoochanejhad (Lokeren, Belgium)
    Mohammad Reza Khalatbari (Sepahan)
    Mohammad Ghazi (Persepolis)

Glad Ansarifard is finally dropped, and Shojaei is making a comeback. I'm just concerned about the age of our team, I don't see too many youngsters, some of these players will be too old for 2014 IMO.

Dejagah injured. Ansarifard is back in the list. Hopefully Ghoochanejad will receive permit from FIFA in time, to play for TM.
I dont know if there have been other changes to the list but I wonder what Omid Ebrahimi has to do to get an invite. This guy rivals Ando! F.uckin mind boggling he has not gotten called up yet.

My preferable line-up for Lebanon game:

    ----------------Rahmati------------------
    Mahini----Aghili--------Hosseini----Pouladi
    ----------------Nekounam--------------
    -----------------Karimi-------------------
    Heydari---------------------------Khalatbari
    -----------------Gucci-----------------------
    -----------------Ansarifard-----------------

Reason I put Ansarifard in starting line-up is because Ghazi is also injured. Gucci supporting striker
