I can't say anything about the difficulty of the Peruvian league but his first touch on that goal was very good.

I watched yesterday's game. Chavarri makes good runs and seems to have a very good skill-set. He's aggressive, good on the dribble, good first touch, very good with both feet, and has a great shot.

He's an interesting prospect to me and certainly one to at least pay attention to. I am curious to see what he could do at a higher level.

    Nice goal.

Is he the first YA in Peru?

Actually, he's not even the first YA at Sporting Cristal. Hermann Trophy winner Luchi Gonzalez played for Sporting, and even played in the Copa Libertadores. Hopefully this guy's career does not follow the same trajectory.

So he scored right-footed cutting in from the left flank and left-footed cutting in from the right.

Sounds like he's versatile enough to play either flank.

Cool prospect, probably will have to get him out of Peru if he wants a chance with the Nats.

    Most definitely

But he could get a look from the Olympic team if he continues to do very well in Peru

Also, if he continues to be a top young player in the league, a January camp invite isn't completely out of the question

His Wikipedia page needs to be updated so it shows that he is an American. That would probably help his chances of being scouted.

    FYP

Do you know what the injury is?

Somehow I don't think US Soccer relies on Wikipedia to discover candidates for the national team.

I do, however, seriously believe they rely on Yanks Abroad and this forum and since Brian has already interviewed him, I'm pretty sure Bradley and the USSF know about him.

    Thanks.

Having had a sprained ankle, it's worse than a break. Can take a long time to heal, especially if you have a job where you put a lot of pressure on it.

Of course, not having a gut might help him heal faster as it puts less pressure on the ankle.;)

I hate when people say this. 9/10 times it's just not true.

Is a break better than a grade III sprain? YES, it commonly is. Those are frickin nasty.

Is a break better than 95% of I and II sprains? NO.

Which account for the majority of sprains? I and II.

My question is, have you suffered a break?

Diego made the bench for Sporting Cristal today but was an unused sub

Good news that he's on his way back from the injury.

Chavarri returns from his ankle injury and entered the game for Sporting Cristal as a 56th minute sub.

Game is 1-1 in 69th minute

    Sporting Cristal drew Cobresol 1-1

Chavarri made his return from injury and subbed into the game in the 56th minute with the score 0-0.

Diego didn't score but I don't know if he was involved with the goal.

Would be a good move if it is true. Probably needs to get out of Peru anyway if he wants to improve.
