Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] Chris Konopka signed with Waterford United in the Irish First Division last week. Looks like he'll again be the #2 behind starter Michael Devine. http://waterford-united.ie/tp_news/blues-sign-new-keeper-mac-and-muddy-return/
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] While looking for information on the 3 Colombians MLS signed, I found this article that mentions that Trujillo is staying with Quindio (although it also says that one of the players MLS has signed is also staying with the club). http://www.cronicadelquindio.com/no...o_para_el_2010-seccion-deportes-nota-7035.htm

Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] Looks like EJ is holding up a sample of the 2012 Wizards home jersey. I think the yellow piping might be a little too much on that one though.
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/sports/Tappa-gives-schoolboys-look-in-at-camp Shavar Thomas was called into Jamaican team camp. I assume this is for their upcoming friendly against Canada at the end of the month.
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] According to Michael Lewis' article on mlsnet, this year's players hall of fame class will be announced on the Fox Football Fone-In on FSC on Thursday. Several Wizards alums are among the 24 up for consideration: Preki, Roy Lassiter, Mike Sorber, Peter Vermes, Mike Burns, and Chris Henderson. Good player-by-player analysis of their chances. Bob Gansler is also a candidate in the builders category.
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] The fact that Gansler and Preki aren't already in is almost criminal.
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] Assuming the same electorate this year as last year, Preki is a mortal lock.
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] Couple updates on alums from Goff today. From his afternoon post...
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] Yanks-Abroad with a good article on Herculez. The more I read about the move, the less it sounds like we had any chance of re-signing him. Makes you rethink whether allocation money, a SuperDraft pick, and a Supplemental Draft pick was a bit much for a player that had his sights set on leaving MLS (and ultimately contributed one goal).
Re: Wizards Alumni v9.1 [R for all games] From listening to Thad's interview with Vermes, that's the same way Vermes comes off as well, that Gomez was wanting to leave. The question then becomes how bad did we want to keep him? It could be that he was one of Onalfo's guys that Vermes didn't really see as much in.
