Bob Bradley is available. Not saying it is the right move, but he is available.

I think the team may need a hungry experienced assistant who is ready to go to the next level. I don't want another damned retread, another coach we all know all about and who's sucked elsewhere. I don't know enough about assistants in the EPL... who?

I will give Tim Sherwood a chance as a caretaker manager. Any manager is better than the clueless one now.

Laudrup is slight betting favourite, although would take good money to get him out of Swansea, plus whatever we need to pay to get rid of AVB, as I doubt he resigns.

Capello is listed as 2nd favourite, he does have World Cup with Russia, but strong links with Baldini.

Sherwood/Hoddle, presumably as a caretaker if the club wants to wait till summer.

Longer odds are de Boer, Pochettino, Luis Enrique.

Hiddink as caretaker maybe? Though it could only be as a caretaker role for the rest of the season since he's agreed to coach Holland again after the WC. But he's proven, available for the rest of the season, and would give us time to find a full time replacement for the summer

Fabio was at the match this evening. Levy could do worse.

Would perfer not to have a caretaker. There are decisions that need to be made in the transfer market that shouldn't be made by a caretaker.

I'd keep Baldini and he is the on that makes those calls, as long as he sees eye to eye. Sherwood is fine with me for rest of season.

Di Matteo? The guy deserves another shot, he was wrongly "sacked" from Chelsea, and he has experience cleaning up the AVB mess

hopefully somebody who believes in the flowing, attacking soccer that once made Spurs so attractive to watch. I can take not being a top 4 side..........it may in fact be impossible in the current soccer economy of clubs.

What's hard to stomach is the hideous football seemingly on display win or lose.
I've stayed away, given it time to sort out, but this DT just isn't right for this club.

Find some LB depth in January. Get healthy please. Find out what you have on the wing with Lamela and Townsend.
Play Holtby with Ericksen, and land a manager who isn't afraid to score. We already see what it's like letting half a dozen in every other week.

Try scoring a few every now and then..........

Caretaker manager for now, then try to get Capello in after the WC. But if we somehow can get him in now, that's the best.

I wouldn't say they are laughing at the club. They are laughing at AVB stupidity for not playing them. BAE is 1 of Spurs longest serving player in recent times and has always been close to the fans, can't see any reason for him to gloat at us.

yeah thats how i read it as well. BAE has had many years of good solid play for spurs and gets dropped with no reason by AVB - i can see how he might have an issue with the way AVB manages the team

it really is most fortuitous for you lot that i'm working so much during the holiday season, as i'm beginning to feel inclined toward digging through the archives to track down a few dozen 'i told you so' posts. fortunately, i just don't have the time.

then again, if i can't come up with the posts, i might just say it. either way, this isn't likely to end well.

I think he has survived for now as we have the Europa league draw today and the CC tie in midweek. We are playing Southampton away this week, his head should still be on the chopping block.

My assessment of the top 5 candidates.

Capello - Experienced, proven and great success at big clubs.
Laudrup - Comparative success at mid-tier clubs.
Hiddink - Experienced, proven and good success at big clubs.
Sherwood - Inexperienced and not proven.
Frank de Boer - Inexperienced in the big leagues.

    We have tried

Ramos - Proven and good success at mid-tier clubs.
HR - Experienced, proven but very limited success.
AVB - Inexperienced in big leagues.

So I think we will be going for someone like Capello or Hiddink this time. If possible, I really want Jupp Heynckes. I wonder if he has any interest in coming out of retirement to try managing in the English league.

Not seeing Laudrup leaving Swansea (willingly) this side of season end ... actually i'm hard pressed seeing Laudrup leaving Swansea at all, this side of season end, short of total collapse with record breaking win-less runs

All these "pundits" are tweeting that Hoddle would be an excellent choice if given the chance. I was not a fan when he was our manager so I hope the vets can shed some light on his managerial tactics/ideas.

Interesting how many in various places have come out against this decision.
