Osvaldo is better than Borriello and Bendtner. However, at best, he would still be behind Tevez and Llorente. I don't see Osvaldo as a significant upgrade over the remaining guys. I just don't understand the move.

I think we'll sell Vucinic, Quag and maybe Giovinco in the summer. Their contract expires at the end of next season.

Very likely, especially the first two who are in their 30's.

Maybe Ozvaldo ends up playing more than Anelka and Bendtner combined. Free loan for a backup striker; it could have been worse.

Yeah, it's a free loan and he took a paycut. I'm not as upset about it as I was yesterday. Still, hope we don't make it permanent.

The option to sign him is there, but unless he is an absolutely beast for Juve (and perhaps for Italy), my guess is that he will be gone. Low risk opportunity for Juve, while from his perspective this is probably his only shot to prove himself at the club.

Juventus, ecco Osvaldo a completare il mosaico di una squadra già devastante. Arriva in prestito dal Southampton, con l'opzione di acquisto a titolo definitivo, per un totale di 19 milioni. Bentornato Pablo!

Yeah, the option expires on May 31st and trust me, we won't be paying that.

It's an interesting position for the team. 19 million for him is ridiculous. Southhampton paid 15.1 million for him last summer and his value has declined given that Juve are basically renting him for half a year for free (aside from his reduced wages).

Is Osvaldo realistically going to want to go back to Southhampton and do they even want him back? If not, is there a club out there that would pay 19 million for him?

If he comes to Juve and barely plays, he is gone. If he plays well then I still think Juve let that offer expire and try to negotiate a reduced fee if they want him.

Agree with all of this. In the mean time, if he keeps his temperament in check, we have a decent back-up for Llorente.

I'm just relieved that we didn't sign Guarin.

I'm only the only one that still trusts Quags over Osvaldo?

If (big if) Osvaldo is even ready to play physically, I think he and Quags could pair up when backing up the starting two. Gio and Quags proved to be a horrible pairing vs Roma and Vucinic seems to be having all sorts of issues now.

It wouldn't be a shock if he plays when the Llorente/Tevez pair need a game off and it wouldn't be a surprise if he barely steps on the field. Giovinco has more to worry about than Quags.

Lazio director Igli Tare reveals Fabio Quagliarella “gave the all-clear for the summer” after refusing a January transfer.
The striker was one of several players who turned down the opportunity to join the Aquile on deadline day.

“We spoke to Quagliarella and Sebastian Giovinco, but neither of them wanted to leave Juventus in January.

“Quagliarella gave the all-clear for the summer, so we may well resume those negotiations in June.

i do too. i think Quags has been very unlucky, either with injuries or Conte's lack of rotation. Seems like antonio doesnt believe in subs anymore.
