??? Mediocre. This series is all set up and precious little delivery. I bet you enjoyed Dan Brown's books didn't you?

What about it was fantastic? Yes. Of course I watched it, hence my confusion and mediocre comment.

Loved the opening scene with Theon and making Ser Rodrick pay the iron price. The stuff with Arya at Harrenhal was great too. The scenes beyond the wall with Jon look brilliant. Anyone know where they are filmed?

@johno - As has been said several times in this thread, the show is like the books in that things don't develop very quickly. You can expect more of the same, so you might want to pass on this series.

Oh don't get me wrong. It is engrossing and I want to see where it goes. But that is a long way from being brilliant. It gets called brilliant routinely and it doesn't belong in the same sentence unless you mean to say it wasn't brilliant.

The Dragon Lady has quite a high opinion of herself doesn't she?

Pretty good episode -- best this year so far I think. Taking 3 sword swings to cut off someone's head is gross.

The plot with Anya has a bit too much deus ex machina in it. She should be dead many times over by now, and I'm not sure why the weasel-y guy didn't rat her out?

More sex and violence over on the Borgias.

Jon is sexually frustrated and a prude.

    What a nice gif!

Anyone know what the long term plans are for the tv series? Wikipedia says the next book (penultimate) won't be released for another 2 years. That means that the final book won't be out for another few years after that....is this series going to run for 7 years? Can this series run for 7 years? (won't Anya start to look rather grown up?)

Rather dopey episode last night....conversations that dragged on, Jon Snow wandering aimlessly through Scotland with a red-haired girl (what is he doing up there anyway other than tripping over one girl after another?). Anya giving away every day how privileged she is.

I've given up trying to read Lynne. She must have the most unique opinions of anyone on the planet.

    I *heart* Arya. :inlove:

If I have a daughter I want her to be just like her.

I will enjoy seeing a sword sever his head from his neck.

I know what you mean and I've had the same thought. I still want him dead though, just because of the way he looks and acts.

He's a truly disgusting character in all respects.

If they follow the Theon story arc exactly as the books do, he is a very interesting character.

Easy to hate, and sympathize with at the same time.

I got a little confused at the end...clearly the author doesn't give a ******** when it comes to (spoiler)

killing off seemingly important characters. But there's no way he managed to kill the 2 Stark boys this early, when it was just getting interesting. It must be 2 randoms he got to look the part...right?

You guys should rewatch the episode carefully before coming up with theories.
