??? its about three and a half months old its a HP I got Avira , AVG, Anit Malwarebytes on it and it some what helps....
What are the specs of the computer? What OS? What is slow... Boot time? Program loading? Internet? Games? Is it slower than when you first bought it?
X.P. two gigs of ram twin turbos 140 gb of hard drive boot time is fine so is the program loading but the internet loading time is very slow.....I check how much megabytes its getting and its 100 Mbps so that must mean that its the computer processing the pages thats going slow!! not the bandwidth.
Which browser are you using? Maybe switching to Chrome could help for now. Other than that, it is possible that your internet connection is slower than it shows you, especially if you have cable and live in a densely populated area.
Am using chrome and you might be right about it showing me 100 mbps connection but it really being slower!
The speed of your LAN is not the same as your actual internet speed. Sounds to me like there's a problem with your internet service. http://www.speedtest.net/ This will give you a better idea of its actual speed.
Your upload is really slow. That doesn't explain anything though, at least it should not hinder your web experience. Have you tried firefox or IE or safari or Opera as well? My result, but it's my university's network, so those are no benchmark:
Your very high ping is the problem (the lower your ping, the better). That is precisely what would cause slow loadtimes for webpages. I suggest you contact your ISP and have them look into the problem.
Also, a tracert might give you a better idea of where the problem lays exactly. Do the following: start menu run type in 'cmd' and then enter type in tracert followed by any random URL (like www.bigsoccer.com) and then enter Mark and then copy the results on here.
what ping? too be honest I dont have a ISP I have Motorola SB4200 I place the codes in the network in my network and internet connections section in the control panel in windows XP and its been giving me excellent internet till this past month!
Your Motorola SB4200 is your cable companies modem. They are your ISP. Try my tracert command, it could give us a better idea of where the problem is situated.

sorry in not being clear but my friend sold me the box with the codes. I just connected my TV cable line to the box then the USB cord to my computer and placed the two different codes in the internet connection options and bam! I got internet at high speed! I dont pay for internet.

Try this. Copy what is in the below quote box into a text file, save it as tracert.bat and then double-click the .bat file. Wait for the cmd-box to close on its self. After this, you'll find a text-file called "output.txt" in the root of your c-drive. It'll hold the output of the tracert command in copyable format. You might have to wait for further feedback though as Barça-Arsenal is about to start.
No, you don't get "internet at high speed." You're getting 1.02 which is barely enough to browse web and check email by today's standards. The slowest my ISP offers is 3.0 for $35 a month. I can get 6.0 for $40 a month. Because you're not paying for it, that's probably part of the problem. You're probably picking up some sort of "default" signal that is bleeding through. If you call to order it, they'll send you equipment tied to your account (instead of your friend's account.) They'll also give you a much faster signal than what you're getting now. All boxes for internet and TV are "thumbprinted" to a physical address. If your friend cancels his service, or even passes his equipment to you, the cable company is smart enough to figure out that "Bob's cable box isn't at Bob's address." They can, and do, send out signals to "confuse" the boxes. How long have you used your friend's box? Eventually, your provider will probably either zap the box (which they may have done already), or they'll send someone out to "check for trouble." Ideally, your line will be split into two different incoming signals.. one for TV and one for internet. The TV signal will probably go through a different "path" coming into your house than your internet signal.
