Why did Alexis Lalas shave at halftime?

I watched MLS Cup but didn't watch the halftime commentary, during which apparently Alexi shaved off his mustache. My buddy thought it was gross, especially cuz Alexi's mustache looked like nose hairs.

I know Alexi Lalas is a complete fool, but why did he do this? Cuz MLS didn't want to pay for a half time show?

Im guessing he did it because it was the end of Movember ?

They had some dead air to cover during half and figured they'd stop mentioning it was Beckham's last game for a few minutes?

I can't stand him as a commentator. All he does is kiss Beckham's ass.

In that case, maybe Beckham asked him to shave his stache?

He's almost enough to ruin broadcasts generally. Any time he spends doing something besides talking on the air is good with me.
