Pretty biased lineup. Not starting Howard and Dempsey is ludicrous.

I personally don't believe Howard can perform in big games, and Dempsey wouldnt fit in the starting lineup due to the style of play I'd emphasize.

Re: Who's your starting 11 in CONCACAF?

    Really Mema over Howard

GK and ST are the 2 positions that we should have close to 100% agreement on who plays there, Howard and Hernandez.

Also Gios best spot is the RW/RMF I would move Donovan iseide before I moved Gio, both of them do need to be on the field for sure.

Also, if a spot is needed for Dempsey, then sit Guardado Move Gio to the right, Donovan to the left and Dempsey as the CF/CAM.

    Isn't Jones a FW?

    François Memé

I don't know I think Gio should be able to perform excellently roaming around the pitch doing whatever he wants :D

    Jermaine Jones.

Ruiz, Campbell, Figueroa can make cases for 1st team action.

Figueroa with Izzaguirre and Salcido (who now plays CDM) are the 3 best options for LB IMO.

Ruiz is a good creator, right now Dempsey is in better form, but people could make a case for Ruiz over Gio or Donovan.

Campbell would be a back up for Hernadez.

Really not much at Striker #9 possition.

    Pure #9s

    Hernadez #1

    Then who else?

    USA - Altidore
    Mexico - DeNigris
    CR - Campbell (only 19)
    Jamaica - Luton Sheldon
    T&T - Kenwyne Jones

    Really who else?

Oribe Peralta has been outperforming De Nigris for the past 2 tournaments.

Sure and Herculez Gomez tied Hernandez for the Mexican Golden boot a few semesters back, it does not mean much.

But if you want to say Peralta is the second best Mexican Striker (after Hernandez), that is ok, I guess we would have to look outside Mexico for Hernadez back up.

My vote goes to Jones. (pure striker)

Dude, you are biased against the USA. Jozy has had a better season than anyone not named Dempsey.

The problem with this is that Jozy has 5 goals in the Eredivise. Carlos Vela has 3 in La Liga, not to mention he's playing the best he has ever played. Hector Moreno is an undoubted starter for 5th placed Espanyol. He has played 90 minutes in every game he's been in. Andres Guardado is leading Deportivo La Coruña in scoring with 8 goals. Nery Castillo ( :D ) is on a torrid scoring pace right now and in 3 games has just as many goals as Jozy.

Roy Myrie hasn't played an official game in Belgium for almost 2 years due to injuries.

Only Costa Ricans IMO that can maybe make a top 11 or be considered for backups are Joel Campbell, Keylor Navas, Esteban Alvarado, Bryan Ruiz, and Bryan Oviedo but this last one some may not have seen much since he plays for FC Copenhagen but he is our NT most consistent player not named Campbell or Navas.

I used to love Altidore, but he is not having a great season, he is having a descent season.

Altidore is like Vela, both have been doing so shitty that any little thing they do gets blown out of proportion by USA and Mexican spazzo fans.

They are playing, scoring, but are not having great seasons.

Quick question who has more goals, Hernandez or Altidore. (Counting Europa League is actually Altidore, Hernandez does better in goals per Minutes)

If I had to take 3 pure Strikers to an all concacaf team, I would not take Altidore.

Hernandez, Jones and Shelton (plays Outside FW more than ST but I would use him as a ST).

Here I will try top 23, I will give the benefit to younger players over older players if I rate then similar.

    GK Howard, Guzan and Ochoa.

RB - Shit no clue, Chandler and I will place Salcido here even when he is a LB.

CB - Moreno, Maza, BocaNegra, ?1

LB - Izaguirre, Figueroa (LB that could play CB).

    CDM - Palacios, Bradley*

    CM - Dempsey, Holden

    LM - Donovan, Guardado

    RM - Dos Santos, ?2

    FW - Ruiz, Shelton

    ST - Hernandez, Jones

?1 I guess I need a RB, then I could move Salcido to LB and Figueroa to CB, other wise I need another CB.

?2 Need a RM to back up 2Saints, Ruiz could be that back up, but then where do I find a WideFW?

    * Many CDM available maybe a very deep spot for Concacaf. So Bradley can be easily replaced.

i kind of did it to prove a point and it worked... everybody went up in arms with my list.. because it has to be US and mexico driven so the thread should be rename the best mexico and US starting 11...

no matter what is said or seen nobody will change.. heck gio dos santos hardly gets of the bench with tottenham but still people have him as the starting 11 over other players that have been playing and doing good even if it is in a smaller club.. but is ok is always a mexico vs US battle no way to avoid it

Sure if you do a search in Big Soccer and look up the number of posters with Mexico as their team and a search for United States as their team you will get a huge % of all posters that go to the Concacaf forum, so yes, we are very bias towards the USA and Mexico.

I will admit my knowledge of Central American and Caribbean players is limited, so if they are not in Europe, I do not know them.

Always been that way here I am afraid. Not likely to change. Of the three Canadians that you've indicated, probably only DeRosario might reasonably be considered for an all CONCACAF team - based only on his MLS play because he typically disappoints when playing for the Nats. Even then, I think a long shot at best. Julian Deguzman has never fully recovered from an injury and although showing some signs, is no longer the player he was when he was in Spain. McKenna is solid, a journeyman Bundesliga player, but I don't think all CONCACAF material. One Canuck who does merit serious consideration is Junior Hoilett (although atm, has not committed to Canada and is eligible for Jamaica through heritage but still CONCACAF in any event) who is doing very well with Blackburn, and likely to move to a bigger team (Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal said to be interested although it is just speculation in the English press) at seasons end. Julian DeGuzman's brother Jonathon has recently decided to come back into the Canadian fold and is also worthy of consideration. He plays in La Liga with Villareal although appears to have lost his starting position around. Villareal is said to have paid 8.5 million Euros as a transfer fee to get him from Mallorca.

23 Player Substitute Pool: Palacios, Barrera, Onyewu, Jermaine Jones, Altidore, Ruiz, Bradley, Hector Moreno, Baloy, Ricketts, Guzan, Shelton.

I know my bench is a little bit unbalanced position wise but oh well.

De Rosario, Josh Simpson and McKenna are the only Canadians I would consider and the first two of those frequently underwhelm for the national team.

Those two CB's would get torched.
