Are the significant changes from 08? That's the version I've been using lately.

Yes. There were significant changes from 08 to 09, minor from 09 to 10 and 11 seems to be a replica of 2010, but I haven't done too much with it

I've heard 2011 includes a new transparency property for objects. If so, it'd be quite useful for our office, sinc eit's the kind of thing you like to do in for competitions, which is what we do now, mainly.
