Who Would You Buy For Rovers (Unrealistically)?

You can buy anyone you want: Messi, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Knobhead (Ronaldo), etc.

For me, it would have to be a tough mid. Take care of the middle first. Someone to distribute and make hard tackles. Something like Bradley does for the USMNT.

    No. NO. NO!

How about bringing in some Argentinians (i.e. All of Boca Juniors)?

    Echo, echo, echo...

I'd rather get the Boca senior team. The juniors won't be professional enough.

I'd buy Ronaldo, just so I could bench him all season, then on the last day of the season, I'd tell him to strip off, then tell him to sit back down, adding a wink to the mix, just to wind him up that little bit more - the b@stard.

Scratch that - I'd just buy him so I could break his legs with a lead pipe. I really do despise that big-headed, cheating little turd.

I'd buy Daniele De Rossi, I reckon he'd do wonders for Rovers and his style of play would fit right in.

Well yeah, we have a reputation as Premier League bully boys to maintain :p
Seriously though, he's a quality box-to-box midfielder who can shore up the defense and provide a creative spark on attack.

    Good shout, I guess.

We're not bullies any more though, are we?

One man's bully is another man's salt-of-the-earth grafter.

If I could choose 2 players, they would be Mascherano and Puyol. They'd do wonders for your defense.

I don't know about Puyol, but Mascherano is a good choice. He's a top tackler and a decent distributor. I can think of at least ten better centre-backs than Puyol - plus he looks like that idiot from Razorlight.

Mascherano on a loan deal might not be a good idea.

If we're talking in unrealistic terms, why not buy him for a tenner? ;)

It's more likely now than it would have been ten years ago:

    - Credit crunch
    - Clubs putting all their eggs in one basket
    - Increasingly litigeous society
    - Foreign, and often untrustworthy, ownership
    - Agents taking a heavy role
    - FIFA run by Sepp Blatter - the most corrupt man in the history of the game

with the new FA PL hearing the worst that could happen (if indeed one mans word is against anothers) is we get docked points and the best is we don't have to give anyone a penny. That's a better posisition than a month ago.

Our chairman is close to a personal bankrupt situation. Before that happens (according to people itk) he'll sell two bigger players to make us "in profit" so we won't go in to administration before we are sold in march.

Cue Bellamy and Parker going to City.

Be a shame to lose Bellamy but Parkers no better than Mullins IMO.

So in answer to your question i don't think a premier league club could go out of buisness as they always could be sold on the cheap bearing in mind their appeal to buyers in TV monies and assets of some players worth.A lot of lower league clubs could be on the edge though.

Yeah - say what you want about Bellamy being a tosser. He was a goal-scoring tosser.

If Rocky wants to go, I guess we need to let him go. We all knew he came to us because he wanted to advertise himself in the league. I just hope we can make a healthy profit, and bring people in who can help is stay in this league.

If I could get anybody I would want :

    Stevie G - Mr. Everything
Messi - best player in the planet
Carragher - We need serious defensive help.

If we need serious defensive help, why get Carragher? He's got no pace, he's an idiot, he's old and he can't defend crosses.

Why not Rio, or Terry, or anyone better?
