Well.... until I know he´s in a good fit. The accident didn´t cause nothing to him or to anyone. And in the last two training he score goals.

I think he´s prepared to shine again. Like Riquelme last year in Boca after a bad season in Villareal.

You have to admit that there was a lot of luck involved in Sao Paulo eliminating Boca. Especially in the game in Buenos Aires, the final result was not at all indicative of the way the game went down.

Yeah, the battle of the perennial international underachievers. But I am confident that River will prove to be the bigger underachiever. With all due respect to America's choking credentials, the gayinas have way much more experience at international choking.

I am still trying to figure out why Flamengo wasnt on the list...

If I were to choose 3 teams to win it all it would be

    Flamengo
    Sao Paulo
    Boca

Ignorance mostly. Not many people outside of Brazil know about the team's success the last half of last year. This team is completely different to the one that was in the Libertadores last year. Much, much better squad. I guess they'll find out how good they are when the CL starts.

Santos played horribly last night (lost 2x0 to Portuguesa, a recently promoted team) which was no surprise to me since they lost one of the best coaches in Brazil in Luxemburgo and made no signings whatsoever. They also didn't retain a few important players that were on their squad last year. They are going to be a big disappointment in the Libertadores. From Brazil, Fla, SPFC and Flu are the contenders. Flu is in a tough group and it remains to be seen how their new squad will gel together.

yea its exciting to see them compete. My cousin is a mad supporter of Flamengo and took me to meet the team and see some of the games when I was in Rio last year. Seeing the passion has caused me to become a fan..... needless to say that if they make it to the semis, ill be flying down to Rio to watch the games.

I wish I could do the same...I think the semis will be in the middle of my college exam week:rolleyes:

The team made a coaching change in July, bringing back one of their old coaches and important players like Fábio Luciano and Íbson while getting rid of the crappy player we had in the first half the year. The team went from dead last to third place, beating 2nd place Santos and 1st place São Paulo in the process. We've maintained the base and made key signings to help out the team...can't wait to see us debut this year on Sunday.

It's sad but i dont see a Mexican team winning this year either.

America may get lucky and get to the final but then they'll cry over not able to play the final in el azteca and lose. Such a controversial club they are... they may even complain about the pitch or the fans chanting or something stupid.

Atlas just plain sucks. Colo and Boca should't have any trouble leaving them in the group stage.

And as for my chivitas we just have to many inexperienced players.. 5 of the titulares we'll go to the pre-olimpico, we'll be lucky if we pass to the second round.

So ill say either Boca or Sao Paolo Colo or Cucuta take it, i hope either of the last 2.

Well, its not a bad team, and the game was not easy by any means. It was an away game, in a small stadium with a not very good grass, and the first half ended 1X0 in favor of Guaratinguetá. Plus the fact Guaratingueta have been training for more than 1 month and São Paulo just 10 days. The team was clearly not 100% yet.

And, to be honest, except brazilians, argentines and mexicans, few teams in this Libertadores are much better than teams like Guaratinguetá.

If you doubt Adriano will score goals like crazy this semester, I suggest you wait and see.

I never said I don't want him to score. If I did, please point that out to me. ;)
As an avid Inter Milan fan, I for one will be very happy if he regains his form . :)

Though I disagree about Guarantingueta being better than most South American teams.

I never said that. I said that they are not MUCH BETTER than Guaratinguetá, not that they are worse.

I heard Palmeiras won to Portuguesa but I don't think they will be in CL. Back on Chivas I am sad too as well that most of their good players will be lost to the olimpic team they should let Cruz Azul step in for them I'm sure Cruz Azul will give some top clubs in CL problems

Yeah seriously, too bad santos laguna, pumas, atlante and especially cruz azul couldn't go to the libertadores. Cruz azul is a way better opponent than club america. Only team I think will win is sao paulo, since they went nuts and went and got shit load of players on loans just for the libertadores. Chivas, nah they dont got the team for winning libertadores or the mex league title.
