I see Spain, Brazil (home advantage), Argentina (Messi playing better with NT), Portugal (Good Euro 2012, Ronaldo , and some new young talents emerging like Nelson Oliveira, Cedric and others from U20 WC runners up, also its in Brazil so might have some fan support compared to other countries)

The game is in south america in Brazil, so Portugal and Spain (duh) should be doing well,
If a european team wins, it will be Spain or maybe Portugal. I cant see France italy germany etc winning a WC in Brazil of all places. I know it sounds illogical, thats just what my gut tells me.

Italy, Germany, and France, Netherlands, England have strong teams as usual and will fight for the title but some of them will flop like usual when WC is outside of europe.

Uruguay, Colombia, and Chile are strong talented south american sides who can prosper in Brazil, perhaps even be in the final in certain conditions, cannot forget Uruguay won the copa america 2011, has a winning history and has a strong team. I also find Colombia and Chile have realy talented sides.

Colombia has some great players like Falcao, james rodriiguez, guarin etc, should be able to qualify.

What makes Chile special in your opinion? I have heard a few people throw praise at them & I really can't see what makes them so "desired"

They do have some good players and also with the cup being in south america they will have a bit of an advantage like Colombia. He just means he thinks the'll have a good world cup, not actually win it.

Well I think some big European teams like Germany or Italy or France will flop hard,

Making it easier for other south American teams
Of course depends on the draw
For example of chile plays brazil in the quarters , chile will lose like always to brazil

Remember 2002 wc, turkey and Korea made semis

Uruguay also made semis in 2010 and they are south american

Although Uruguay IMO has better chance then chile of making the final or winning in 2014

Brazil/Uruguay/ Argentina are elite after that is colombia and chile and Paraguay

IMO they have the most pleasant attractive style in south America , very nice football but it would be a longshot I agree ..

IMO in 2014 if a surprise country makes the final, it will definitely be Portugal (surprise in the sense that they never went to the final before)

Mexico can also probabmy do well This time, ESP after winning Olympics hey have some nice young talents
    LGRod repped this.

Portugal could be a surprise. I do wonder what type of support they will get. I know in Southern Brasil, it's more of an Italian influence so, maybe the Italians would rather play in the Southern parts of Brasil.

People should not sleep on Colombia(If they make it), talented side, and managed by Pekerman, who could do good things with them. I do not think many teams would want to run into the Colombians. They could be what Uruguay was in 2010. Speaking of Uruguay, I wonder where Forlan will be in 2 years time. They were clearly off without him at the Olympics. Still Cavani and Suarez, but Gastón Ramírez is no Forlan.

As an England fan I hate to say, but I think Argentina will pull it out because their are right next door to Brazil and Messi will finally shine. Plus Brazil will be under huge amount of pressure.

up til now, agree that Argentina have the best attacking force in the world (Messi Kun Di.Maria Tevez Higuain Pastore Lavezzi J,Martinez... ) wow too many to remember ...
However they still have defense issue ... so Xfingers for Brazil and others

Why can't Germany beat Brazil? They have a better squad at the moment.
