It's not just the match but also the training and everyday experience. While Brazilians don't know any better, Dutch players will whine about it.. I can guarantee you that.

Brazil flopped at the Copa America last year and fell again at the Olympics. I don't know if it is good or bad for them. Their expectations might be lower, but it also might add more pressure to make up for those loses.

yep brazil at home almost impossible to beat. I can really only see them getting beaten by Argentina. Wouldn't rule out the French knocking out brazil tho due to them being their bogey team and the players like Ribery, Benzema and Nasri etc.

Argentina.... sikes. (; system players like Messi aren't made to win WCs.

    1) Spain- they won it last time and most of their players will be back.
    2) Brazil- Talent and Home-field advantage.
    3) Italy- they always prove people wrong.

Good point you make. I make nothing of that tho. Brazil have never won the olympics, have failed at the coppa before yet have rose for the world cup. In 2002 the same deal. Brazil went there not winning the copa in 2001 or olympics in 2000, had a poor qualifying campaign yet emerged victorious.

Not sure exactly who´s winning WC 2014 but this is the final four:
    England, Italy, Argentina and Uruguay
and who plays in the final depends on how the semis are set up.
But the winner is a South American, and it´s not going to be Brazil.
    Take that to the bank.

England is too much of an average team to be in the WC semifinals, I think. Top 4, IMHO, should be Spain, Brazil, Germany, Netherlands.

Netherlands? I think there is a decent chance that they won't even qualify.

A year ago I thought Euro 2012 will be their last chance to win a major tournament for a while because their big stars were all in their prime. Based on what I saw, those stars may have fallen off their prime already.

Belgium will play Holland in the final winning 6-0.

    Dicussion closed :devilish:

On a more serious note, I don't see Brazil winning, not that it's impossible but they don't have
the Team they had 5 - 10 years ago, Argentine, Germany, Spain and even ,prolific underachievers aka England are better than Brazil.
My pick as a surprise team, RUSSIA !!!

That has to be one of the weakest Brazil forward-lines I have ever seen! You can throw in an ageing Robinho too to add to the mediocrity. Many other NT's have better attacking options, and this is traditionally supposed to be Brazil's strength!

That said, home advantage is key. Brazil probably won't have to face another good team until the quarterfinals, so you have to like their chances to reach the semis.

Well they almost made the semis of euro only losing on penalties so who knows. Teams have good runs in the cup like turkey and korea 2002, Bulgaria and sweden 1994, Croatia 98 and Uruguay 2010. England has been consistently better than all those nations listed so they can make the semi finals. Depends on the draw and luck too of course. That being said, I agree with you. Unless they get a good draw and passage, I doubt theyll make the semi finals.

For me, Argentina and Brazil will be in the semi's. Unless Brazil meet france in the quarters or semis because I expect the French wielding Ribery, Nasri and Benzema to continue their hoodoo over Brazil if they met at the world cup. Not sure about my Italy, I don't see us doing well tbh. Who knows, Verratti and Destro look a good talent. El Sharrawy may step up too. Germany should be there, Spain have dominated, tho I dont want to see them in another final. Its just getting boring.

England better than Brazil? The same team for the most part that was outplayed at the euros against Ukraine and Sweden? Youve got to be kidding me!

Russia choked at the euro where all they needed was a draw in their last game. They won't do a thing.

Until Mexico grows in size they will always struggle against the physical strikers of northern Europe or even the powers of the like of Pele and the original Ronaldo. They are very close in technical ability and given recent form will put the fear of God into any opponent. Their time draws near.

Russia was one of the better teams in this past Euro. But the brutal thing about the Euros is that there is no room for error. Fortunately the World Cup provides you with more room for error since you can have a team like New Zealand or Honduras in your group. But I guess Russia first has to qualify.

Rubbish team selection by Lippi at the world cup. Go back in the italy national team section and read the post I asked '' how will italy go at the world cup '' I and most others knew we'd go out in the first round. Just like Croatia did in 2002 and 2006:D
