    1. He translated the Dead Sea Scrolls by himself.
    2. He made a working robot out of clay.
    3. He dated 24 supermodels in one month (February).
    4. He discovered some dinosaurs on an island between Argentina and Antarctica.
    5. He generously suggested to 1978 WC coach Cesar Luis Menotti that it might be best for him (Maroo) to watch from the sidelines.
    6. He led Los albi-celestes to World Cup glory in 2010.
    7. He is very close to finding a cure for cancer.

(anyway, the answer to the topic question is Pele, he was just the greatest player ever, and that would be ever . . . .)

There are seven canonical players in football:

    Maradona
    Pele
    DiStefano
    Puskas
    Cruyff
    Beckenbauer
    Garrincha

The elite of the elite, I voted for Maradona, who transcends football and is really an artistic genius in the ranks of Picasso, Shakespeare, Kurosawa, Neruda.

The game has changed so much in the past 40 years it is so difficult to say. When you incorporate today's fitness, speed of game and rigors of club football I offer Ryan Giggs.

    BTW, I hate ManU.

I can't believe people actually added/voted for a 23 year old, anyway for me its Maradona/Pele hard to pick one out of the two, I voted for Maradona simply because I saw more of him and there isn't that much footage of Pele so I can say for sure.

Of the people who are of an age to have seen both in their prime I'd be willing to wager that the VAST majority would pick Pele.

I agree, I saw them both, as did you.
Nothing against Maradona, he was great.
Pele was better. Faster, quicker body.
He did the hardest thing in soccer better than anyone before or since in every variety of ways imaginable. That would be . . . .score goals.

Even i have not ever see him, i believe Puskas is the best as he gave a total differnt view of football.
