which players from your countries copa america squad are the unknown players that will look to shine and possibly impress euro scouts?

with jefferson farfan sold the 2 other young players that will look for their future in foreign shores are:

    walter vilchez - alianza lima
    born 1982
can play central defence, left back and even defensive midfield

    Julio Garcia - Cienciano
    born - 1981
left footed offensive mid many believe he is roberto palacios succesor

2 other players erick delgado(1982) and juan carlos la rosa(1980) wont get strarring roles seing they are both 3rd options for their respective position

Perhaps the finest midfielder, Argentina's Lucho Gonzalez will excel amongst the new crop. He is not well known beyond football fans that follow Copa Libertadores on Tv, but I believe he is ready for the big time. So is Carlos Tevez, but unlike Lucho, Tevez is already known, becuase of his team exposure.

I also like Colombia's Valentierra, but I ignore if he's going to Peru. And Farfan is awesome.

Luis Fabiano, sholud be Brazil's biggest threat, and is another one not completely known beyond SA's borders (of course, this only could happen when you can have 3 teams with A-grade players).

And finally, Henao, the great Once Caldas goalkeeper, who regardless of the age factor (he is 32 or 33), was relatively unknown until his almost inmaculate performance in the current Copa Libertadores... I still can't understand how can the Colombian boss prefers somebody else over him!!

Valentierra is nice but youve ommited sergio herrera

and henao is old too old to be signed hell probably be once caldas GK till he retires

Cordoba is a lot better than henao eitherway henao may be good but henao learned what he knows from cordoba and cordoba has been in 3 world cups...but henao will most likely be the starting goalie unless he chooses the cali guy who also has more experience..

Does Herrera play for Once Caldas??

As for Henao, I gotta tell ya', that maybe I like Cinderella stories way too much, but I believe he is definitely the best keeper in all of the Americas today. Cordova is really good, though, I still can't forget that huge mistake he made on the Dumitrescu goal in WC 94'.

BTW, do you by any chance know if there's any video with Higuita's highlights, bio, and bloopers? The guy, is the best showman that ever played as a goalie.

did you even see cordoba in the confed cup
the wc 94 was cordobas 2nd world cup but he was only about 25 back then...
Henao learned from cordoba and cordoba owns henao

Herrera plays for america he was aquired just this year...but he has played 3 games with the sellecion and scored 3 goals he was maximum goaleador in the classification to the olympics sub 23 and already maximum goleador in colombian football

Does Vagner Love have the potential to become world class? I have not seen him play.

Definitely. Many brazilian comentators say he has potential to become a better player than luis fabiano, for example. He is faster and more skillful, and is only 19 years old. But Im afraid he will hide himself a little, once CSKA (Russia) signed him for next season, and nobody will see him playing much. I hope he comes back to Brazil soon for a real european team to sign him.

I would say for Bolivia the player to watch is defender
ronald raldes who currently plays for Rosario Central

I have watched every American and European major tournaments since Euro1980, played in Italy (I was still a little kid, but I watched it)...And honestly, I still believe what I said before, Cordoba (not Cordova right?), is a great keeper, but right now, he can be Henao's errand boy anytime (specially after tonight's final), but then again that is just my personal opinion.

Damn Bro!, I thought slavery was a thing of the past!

I'm really looking forward to catch his performance in Peru, hopefully he wont choke!

    Good luck!

Why is he going to CSKA? That will put his international career in jeopardy.

he will not choke....his age and experience will keep him calm and down to earth.
will he move to argentina's club side, or do you see an euro club (2nd level kind of) asking for him? Must have a solid copa america thou!

Are we still talking about that Herrera dude?

Apparently, Argentina is currently colombian's talent first stage before they can hit the Big Boards!

Theres no way you can compare Henao and Córdoba, they both are really good keepers, but Henao has the edge when coming off the line, Córdoba has that huge mistake against River coming off the line, libertadores 96, which River won cause of that. You say Córdoba would have stopped Boca's goal, doubt it. Córdoba has only been to WC 94 and 98 I think, 94 was starting keeper, 98 Mondragon was. WC 90 it was Higuita and Niño. I like Córdoba too, but in reality Henao is more in rhythim right now, lets hope he keeps up his performance in Copa América, Henao is 32, Córdoba 34, Henao could go play Internacional soccer for 3 - 4 years.
