I applied for 4 tickets TST-4 category 3. Looking back on it now, I should've applied for TST-5. Regardless of if I get these or not, I'll probably try to get a few more matches in the later phases.
Given the time zone difference, I'm guessing the drawing already happened. The FAQ says we'll be notified within 3 days. Good luck!!
We're going to need a "lot"" of luck to receive a "successful e-mail from FIFA. Random selection draw for the first phase of ticket sales completed (FIFA.com) Thursday 16 April 2009 Print Email my friend Share The random selection draw for the first phase of ticket sales for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ took place yesterday afternoon at the UK offices of MATCH Services, the professional services company selected by FIFA to provide a turn-key ticketing solution for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, located at SEAMOS House, Cheadle, England. The procedure, completed by a computer program, included all oversubscribed matches (52), as well as all team-specific ticket series for all those teams that were oversubscribed (39). The random selection draw lasted about two hours and was conducted in the presence of Public Notary Miss Valerie Howard. Following the completion of the random selection draw, the successful applications were validated one last time to identify any multiple applications that may have got through earlier electronic checks. Each applicant was able to apply for a maximum of four tickets per match and for a maximum of seven matches only. Out of the total of 1,862,319 tickets requested from 205 countries, 555,871 tickets were drawn successfully. Of those, 245,948 tickets were drawn to South African residents - this corresponds to 44 per cent of all tickets successfully drawn during this first phase of ticket sales. Outside the host country, the highest number of tickets drawn was to residents of the United States (69,208 tickets), followed by the United Kingdom (39,421 tickets) and Germany (29,330 tickets). From the applications received, the most popular team was England, for which a total of 228,822 team-specific tickets (TST) were requested and for which the total number of available TSTs was 8,895. With regard to individual match tickets, the most popular ticket category was Category 4 and the most heavily oversubscribed match was the final, by a factor of 3,000 per cent. "The whole draw procedure worked smoothly. Of course, we would have liked to please even more football fans at this stage, but there will be other ticket sales phases, the next one starting on 4 May. By implementing an electronic random selection draw, we are able to guarantee that the whole procedure remains fair and all applicants have an equal chance. This is very important to us," said David Will, FIFA Honorary Vice-President and chairman of the FIFA Ticketing Sub-Committee. "We are obviously happy to see the huge number of South Africans that have successfully secured tickets for next year's FIFA World Cup. But of course we will continue to encourage all other South Africans as well as fellow Africans to apply for their tickets during the second phase so as not to miss out on this once in a lifetime experience," emphasised Danny Jordaan, CEO of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee South Africa. Between today and the end of April 2009, all applicants will be informed via e-mail or SMS whether they were completely or partially successful or whether they were unsuccessful in securing all the tickets they applied for. Applicants who do not receive any correspondence by the end of this month should contact: Residents of South Africa: Post: 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre (FWCTC) PO Box 4928, Cresta, 2118, South Africa E-mail: enquiries@2010FWCTC.co.za Phone: 083 123 2010 SMS: 083 123 2010 International General Public: Post: 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre (FWCTC) Aurorastrasse 100, 8032 Zurich, Switzerland E-mail: enquiries@2010FWCTC.com Fax: +41 43222 6800 Those who were unlucky this time will be able to submit further ticket requests from 4 May 2009, when the second ticket phase commences. It will remain open until 16 November 2009. During this second sales phase, tickets will be allocated on a "first come, first served, subject to availability" basis, i.e. applications will be processed in the order they are received. Tickets will be ready for collection at FIFA venue ticketing centres from April 2010. World Cup™ Ticketing Centre (FWCTC) PO Box 4928, Cresta, 2118, Sudáfrica E-mail: enquiries@2010FWCTC.co.za Teléfono: 083 123 2010 SMS: 083 123 2010 Público Internacional: Dirección postal: 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Ticketing Centre (FWCTC) Aurorastrasse 100, 8032 Zurich, Suiza E-mail: enquiries@2010FWCTC.com Fax: +41 43222 6800

Yes! Yes! : I just cheked mi credit card pending charges & says PENDING $ 4,312.OO which means = to 4 cat 1 TST-5 follow your team Mexico. I have not received the fifa's e-mail yet. Let you know when I get it.
I dont have anything like that so I take it either the charge was immediately declined or I didnt get chosen
Thank you Bravo, I wish you good luck to you too, dont' give up hope yet. Let us know guys when you get the good news!
This probably goes in the PWNED thread but.... my debit card got declined at a parking lot I go to and I didnt know why so I called my bank and they were like..."we put a hold on your account because something called world cup tickets tried to remove X thousand dollars from your account".... fffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. I dont know what I was thinking (i wasn't thinking) when I gave my debit card and not my credit card when I signed up for the lottery...hopefully they'll give me a chance to use a different card otherwise I just owned myself royally.....
so I just got the email...I did get chosen in the lottery. It appears that the tickets are still mine. I just have to find out how to give them a different card number.
Cograts buki! Check up the tread in the "Fifa & its tournaments seccion", there are several guys with similar problems. What matches did you get?
Yeah I was looking through the website and it appears I am in luck. it says that if my payment is unsuccessful they will send me an email to give new payment info...I guess I have up to 5 opportunities to make payment. I have tickets to Mexico's games. The 3 group games and the round of 16 game.
Congrats!! I didn't get Mexico yet (bunch of rejections, no longer appears for TSTs), but I did just find out I got 4 random games in J'burg (E1-E2, B1-B3, G1-G2, and the R16 1B-2A).
Thanks! Yes, finally. Of course it's for Mexico! See you there! Thanks and congrats to you too! If I didn't get the TST-6, I was just going to start applying for random games. Hopefully, at least one of yours is for a Mexico game.
Hopefully somebody can help me.... I procrastinated for so long it looks like I might be out of luck b/c when I went to apply for WC tickets today the option to follow Mexico is no there. Anybody have any info how I can still manage to score some tix to follow Mexico in 2010? And congrats to those who have already purchased theirs. I'm envious
No one knows for sure, but you probably have to wait until November when Phase 3 starts to attempt to get Mexico TSTs.
If you've got money to burn, there will be scalpers and tours. If not, there will be other ticket sale phases between now and then.
