Last season, Crew clinched the Eastern conference along with the SS on October 2nd. Who and when do you think a club will clinch the SS? I'm thinking: October 8th - New England Revolution.
Chicago...on the last day against Revs. We'll need one point to get it at their expense. 1:1 will be the final with the Fire equaliser coming off a header from Jim Curtin on a late corner. High drama. You heard it here first.
My first thought was to put United in instead - but their schedule outside the league may prevent them from getting enough points in it to get the SS. If they get the SS anyway ... yikes.
No, they didn't. If the Crew would have lost rather than tied their final match, KC would have won the Shield.
In the second-to-last game of the regular season, San Jose will defeat the Galaxy at the HDC to take the SS. They will then defeat the Galaxy in the first round of the playoffs, defeat FC Dallas in the conference finals, and defeat DC United in the final to take MLS Cup. This will complete their conquest for the triple that began when they took the US Open Cup back in late September. - Paul
Ah, that is right.. I remember the whole thing now.. Goal differential or something? I take back my original statement. They just clinched the East that night. Well, I guess that's sort of just ammending it, but hell, that's ok, too.
