Last year (or was it early this year?) there were apparently three major participants in the Soccer Management Sim genre: Sports Interactive's Worldwide Soccer Manager 2005, Eidos' Championship Manager 5 and Electronic Arts' Total Club Manager 2005. Only one of those games included MLS, so for me the choice of which one to play was crystal clear (I didn't even bother with the other two). The choice is somewhat tougher for me this year. After changing its game's name to FIFA Manager 06 and finally including MLS, this year's beta demo for Electronic Arts' soccer management sim looks pretty good. The beta demo for Football Manager 2006 (the international version of the upcoming Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006) looks as solid as ever - and it still includes MLS (even though, as one would expect with a beta demo, it's missing some data). So after playing each game's beta demo, which do you prefer and why? Or are you instead looking forward to Eidos' Championship Manager 6 (or 05/06, or whatever the next version will be called)? Or perhaps another soccer management sim that I've completely overlooked? Discuss. -G
For now I voted for Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006, since it's the incumbent (WSM 2005 is what I played last year). If I should choose one of the other choices instead once it hits stores, let me know why. -G
I voted for Worldwide Soccer Manager 2006 since you don't have FM listed. I'm not waiting around for WSM and will get the Uk version again. Its the only serious football mgmt sim out there.
Football Manager 2006 - UK release is on October 21st. Haven't a clue on the US release... It's bound to be much later. You are better off importing the UK version over. Far worth the hassle imo.
I'm not sure which one I am going to get. I haven't had a soccer sim. since one of the Champ. Manager. games a few years ago. I should be getting a new computer soon, so I'm definantly looking forward to one of these games. Just not sure which one yet. If anyone has any suggestions on which one I should get let me know.
