Seattle. Marginally better team, and healthier, and a better cold weather team, I think. Don't expect the Broncos to be able to run effectively. Hoping the other way, but that's how I see it.
I said earlier that NE would win over Seattle on the basis of more big-game experience, but they didn't beat Denver. The Seahawks didn't cement the NFC title game away at home early like they should have, so I'm looking for the Broncos to take this one.
The big issue is whether Manning can survive Avril and Bennett and find Thomasx2 and Delker. Seattle negated Gore. Vernon Davis was totally shut down till the 4th Q and the only effective receiver was Boldin, scoring the only TD thru the air. How is Denver going to keep Lynch from running for 150 yards? With Percy Harvin coming back, Wilson has Baldwin, Tate, Harvin and Miller. That's not Thomas, Thomas, Decker and Welker, but it ain't chopped liver, either. If Rodgers-Cromartie isn't healthy, that's a problem. New England doesn't have a passing attack that compares with the Hawks.
All this is true, but dude, you gotta pick a winner. It looks like you're favoring Seattle, but you haven't actually said it.
Hey. Read between the lines. the current odds are Broncos -3, but i think it will be a pick-em or Seattle -1/2 at game time, based on the weather. i can't bet -- my multi-faceted malady -- but i would take Seattle +2 in a heartbeat if i did. i think the over/under is around 45 -- Vegas has it at 47, so i would be an under.
I hope Goodell's kidneys freeze up. 'Twas a stupid idea to give NYC a Super Bowl. "Football weather" is the same as any other athletic weather- 70-85 degrees unless you're a brit or a Dane or something. It allows players to erform at their best, which is what fans with no dog in the fight want to see.
I think Denver will win, its the best team in the league. I have a friend whos a huge Seahawks fan, but I have to say sorry to him this time.
the weather will keep the game close. 47 1/2 is the O/U. you think 31-17? i'm more like 24-21 Seattle.
There's a lot of this particular kind of stupid going around right now... http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/los-angele-sunshine-nhl-dodger-stadium/22413367
Oh, and I'm thinking Seattle wins: "decent" weather gives us a score similar to Matt/Hat's call, shitty, yet IMO more entertaining weather keeps it closer to Stilton's call. Accuweather has the high in the mid 30s with a chance of snow. Better than today's forecast, what with a gale warning in effect for the area.
I don't know about that. I commute to work by bike and my times are much better in cool weather. I mean, "cool" does not mean 11F degrees, but probably around 45-55F is ideal. 85 degrees is horrible! There's a reason the Boston and NYC marathons are held far away from the summer months. It's pretty much just for the SB festivities during the week where its better to be in Phoenix or Tampa, even if their nightlife sucks by comparison. Anyway, the forecast calls for a significant warm-up next weekend and better conditions than a whole bunch of playoff and even regular season games were played-in so far this season.
Repped because it does seem a bit strange. But it makes more sense than the outdoor NHL games in frigid places. It's all the same to the players because hockey needs an icy surface. But at least in this case, the fans will be comfortable, like they are in an arena instead of dealing with hypothermia in those outdoor NHL games that they have in frigid regions. Unless it rains...
Edit: I wrote something mean but both sides of the Rooney-Mara empire should be cool with each other. We own this league for a reason.
None of you will be at the game unless the tix prices drop so low that non-celebs can attend and get better seats than their living rooms would provide.
It was that you have more rings than Pittsburgh- I saw it. Not mean- it's true. But we lead the forward-pass era
