The Giants. The more people rooting against the Pats, the more likely they are to win. They love adversity.

Well, they are the clear favorites obviously . Not many are giving the Giants a chance. And I hope they aren't reading this thread and looking at the poll numbers. They are going to be severely adversity challenged! :)

Well there's a difference between who people want to win and who they expect to win. ESPN ran a poll or who you WANT to win and the Giants were winning by like 70% to 30%.

People like to root for the underdog. They are the heavy favorites, uh-oh, not enough adversity!

FWIW, I looked at the stats of the last game of the season between the Patsies and the Giants. The Patsies had significantly more time of possession and more total yards. But the Giants were more successful running the ball. Overall, though, it looked like the Patsies had a good solid edge statistically and the game wasn't as close as the score. But maybe the Giants can leverage their edge in the running game to good effect.

Grossman, is a hit or miss. But i think Eli is better than Grossman. Tom Brady is one of the elites, but I cant STAND him.

I honestly don't know why people can't stand Brady. Is it because he's such a nice all-American kind of guy? Keeps his nose clean, looks better in designer clothes than most people, cool under all kinds of pressure on and off field, and happens to be one of the best quarterbacks of all time.

Can't stand either team, but since it's fashionable to hate the Patriots, it will be the New Jersey Giants pulling off the upset. And, I'm glad that Jeremy Shockey is sitting this one out. :D

As for Brady, he is the American David Beckham with his clean cut image and so forth. Only thing he's done off the loop is have a child out of wedlock but really IMO that's irrelevant.

If the Patriots win, so be it. Really, I'm one of the few who won't be watching the game. :D I can only get into it if the 49ers and/or Raiders are in the Final Game.

At least, anyone who's in San Mateo you're welcome to crash the Tom Brady parade--all in good fun! :p

But you can't miss the commercials. And Tom Petty should be good (safe choice, but could've been a LOT worse performer). And the beer is always a winner. C'mon, you can't miss this.

Even though I grew up in a time and place that didn't have soccer - played both football and baseball as a kid, I've complete switched to soccer now. So, I'm not watching the Super Bowl and haven't seen a full Super Bowl since the early 80s.

During the Super Bowl is actually a great time to go out and get things done. Very few cars are on the street and very few people in the stores.

I've always liked Tom Petty even though classic / mainstream rock is not necessarily my most favorite type of music. He's got to be pretty ancient by now, but then Paul McCartney is pretty ancient too, probably more so (didn't he perform last year or recently)?

And so it was written. And so it came to pass.

Two years in a row against the grain picks. Yo, if you want Super Bowl picks, just come check with the J-man. :)

Pats were laden with bad karma. First they got caught cheating, and then there's Randy Moss, who mailed it in at Oakland, and now he's Mr. Team First? It just couldn't end that way - with Moss catching a TD pass, after his team had been outplayed.

And, geez, check out that catch by David Tyree, one hand, against the back of his helmet? Unreal. And after Manning miraculously squirmed out of a sack? Peyton Manning called it one of the greatest plays of all time.

Well, they couldn't handle NY defence physically, and that doesn't help your mental state during a game (your statement of ultimate glory, Pats!) that keeps slip slidin' away, one set of downs at a time.

Not sure whether Belichick is "thriving" between losing to a 5th seed in the Super Bowl, and feeling the wrath of scary ol' Arlen Specter over SpyGate, but he doesn't sound too cheery. Then again, he never did.

And we'll keep heaving massive piles of stinking shyte, 'cuz karma says it is how it must be, and so it shall. Hopefully this is a precursor to this year's elections, in which "change" means the downfall of the arrogant.

Oh, and it was a fumble.:D

Well, I dozed off--and turned it on with at least 4 minutes or so left in the game. The rest is history as the saying goes. ;) It was just too much seeing the Patriots "choke", no make that couldn't hold on to the lead and of course Eli Manning dodging the entire rush of Blue jerseys to make that throw, and subsequently the winning score on the next play.

and yep, I missed those damn commericals, though it's high time for the Manning Bros to pair up for one of those cheesy MasterCard ads.

As for our "Super Bowl" with the real football, it's coming live from Houston tomorrow!
