All it takes to pull this crap and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars is for anybody to have a feeling? Dont they interview the accuser before going full A-team gung ho on whoever the timid point out? What constitutes the threshold for this behavior? Is any t-bag cracker able to open this on any 'darkie' because their being 'dark' is sincere? What is a Hindu reported three of the Branson bound? Would the reaction be the same? Do these people have the right to confront their accuser? How does a clearly false incident grant the right to put a persons fingerprints into the database? ID demand the prints be expunged and fight not to have them taken. Im 50. My prints are not on file and I plan never to voluntarily have them taken.

I think we need to start locking up the "innocent vigilant bystander" that reports this sort of crap.

Oh my GOD - there are THREE people of roughly the same non-caucasian ethnicity on A MF-ING PLANE.

And you would think that, oh, I don't know AFTER THE PLANE LANDED you could probably determine nothing was going to happen.

+1. What an angry, paranoid, dysfunctional society we've created.

The creation of this social dynamic is the real tragedy of 9/11. And its self inflicted.

Not to nit pick but the thread title should be changed. To narc is to imply that were seen doing something wrong or illegal. I think Rat is a better word.

No more jokes about dropping bombs in the airplane bathroom from now on.

Seriously, this makes me more sad than angry. The terrorists won. Congratulations, Al Qaeda.

that's been pretty obvious since early 2002, I knew it by Sept 13th 2001. They continue winning today.
Played like fools, our government was, still playing even though they're playing with only themselves, not the terrorists any more. Just the rest of us - hell, we might be terrorists someday so they best keep an eye, and a boot, on us.

Not only have the terrorists won, they haven't even had to get up off their asses in years to do it.

    Who was the caller?

It would be interesting to learn who was the caller. Another passenger? Part of the crew? Were there air marshals on board? Any reports?
If the author is that concerned, perhaps she can contact one of the many lawyers who specializes in civil rights litigation, to sue those who detained her, & perhaps the airline as well. A lawsuit might reveal some details. And, she'll probably get a settlement offer.
Would it be considered suspicicous, if all 3 detainees filed jointly?
Of course, her use of the word "redneck" in the story might not help.
Your characterization of the unknown source of the complaint is purely speculative.
Could just be a nervous nellie, hopefully not a prankster, or someone with ill intent.
Perhaps the most sensible observation I've seen. However, once the decision is made to take the call seriously (& who wouldn't, in a command room), there bound to be a reaction in strength.

    Re: Who was the caller?

who cares - neither one should be able to get a person strip-searched and detained with no credible evidence of a crime or serious crime plot. Not in a just or caring society anyway.

I would advise her to sue Homeland Security, but I bet it is against the law to do so for rights violations (it's for your own protection after all - what complete nonsense that line is)

    Re: Who was the caller?

I don't really see how she has a case, if she wanted to pursue one. Some racist a-hole said they were acting suspiciously; there isn't any scenario where the authorities don't have to investigate fully. It seems to me that they handled the case professionally. It sucks for everyone, but the problem isn't the airline or the police or even TSA, it's the steaming pile of shit who freaked out because there were brown people on an airplane.

    Re: Who was the caller?

Investigating ANYTHING "fully" rarely involves someone grabbing and separating your ass cheeks to be able to see up your bunghole. Or it should be pretty damn rare :)

Leave that stuff for the republican congressional page initiation where it belongs ;)

    Who was the caller?

You're probably right. Best never to do anything, until after an attack. Then, no one can claim you were overzealous.
In 2009, a group of minority high school seniors were pulled from their van, while en route home on the NJ Turnpike, due to an anonymous 911 call, that they were displaying guns in a rest stop. A huge uproar ensured, claims of discrimination, etc. When the caller was finally tracked down, it was one of the students who made the call, after removing the SIM card from his cellphone, to try to avoid detection. I doubt he was a racist a-hole, probably not even a steaming pile of shit.

You can listen to the call & watch video of the stop. What should they have done?

    Re: Who was the caller?

Years ago, we discussed on this forum an incident where a group of muslim men were pulled off of a flight, because some of them had been praying at the airport gate. They filed a lawsuit against the airport and other defendants. After the judge declined to dismiss the case, the plaintiffs reached a confidential settlement with the defendants. If there were not proper grounds to detain this woman and the two men, they might have proper causes of action against several parties and a claim for damages.

One thing's for damn sure, travelling by air is now one humongous pain in the balls. From the minute your ride drops you off at the airport until the time you wait for your lost luggage that you paid an extra $120 bucks to have shipped, it's less painless to get a root canal without the novocaine.

Folk singers are national heroes, we'd be way worse off if not for the folk singers of the 30s, 40s, 60s, 70s, etc. Not sure there are any real folk singers these days. A few.

    Who called?

I remember when folk singers were called protest singers!
Good thing he trimmed his braids:

Meanwhile, a woman calls in a bomb threat on her mother's flight ...
    on her mother's phone!

"The flight ... was delayed while cops removed all the luggage and nine bomb-sniffing dogs searched the aircraft and bags ... All the passengers were re-screened and swabbed for traces of explosives ... The FBI traced the calls to a phone registered to ... a passenger"
