I follow 2. Bundesliga because I did so when Mainz still played there. And of course, they could get relegated to that league any year. 3. Liga I find more interesting than the old Regionalligen and I sometimes catch match highlights on TV, but I don't really follow the league. It might get interesting if RB Leipzig gets promoted. Supervillains make everything more fun!
How many divisions I follow? I keep tabs on about a dozen teams in the lower divisions, some of which are as far down as the Regionalliga. That means I read about their results and look at the league table, and read articles about them if I come across them. I also watch their games or game summaries if they are shown on TV. But I don't go to their games, with the exception of the occasional visit to the stadium when I am back in my original hometown, which is not often. (My hometown club Dresden plays in the 2. Bundesliga currently, but was in the Regionalliga only a few years ago). In the town where I live (Hamburg) I go only to Bundesliga games.
Which pretty much translates into: "I don't really follow lower division soccer". I mean, that's fine, people don't have to and all.
I pretty much only the BL and watch the odd game from a lower league. I do check all the scores of 2.BL, 3.BL and Regionalliga though and root for every team playing RB Leipzig.
I don't want to gloat yet, since I fear I'll jinx it and they'll pull off a miracle... Still, I love how this works out - they have one of the most pure examples of a team of cynical mercenaries ever, and you can just feel how the players don't give a shit as long as the paycheck comes. Yet there are still the people who'll tell you what great work Red Bull does, how they'll build up a team, help German soccer as a whole, yadda yadda.
Bundesliga 2. Bundesliga U19 Bundesliga U17 Bundesliga U15 Regionalliga U14 Nachwuchscup 3. Liga, Regionalliga etc of course too, but only very limited. nice!
Naturally the 1. BL is the priority, but I tend to keep an open eye on the lower leagues to watch out for the Bavarian clubs. It's nice to see an old historic club like Fürth (OK, semi-historic with the Greuther bit) back in the 1. BL and am hoping that Jahn can clamber back into the 2. BL...
I've always followed the whole...... but must admit I stopped following Buli1 exept for whos being chamipions and whos going down. All other Leagues I follow however.... Oberliga only once a month or so Icheck the results and how the old traditionsvereins is doing.
meinbvb.de and general bundesliga and any german-liga news. but i would be really bored if i tried to actually watch the matches now
The football situation in Leipzig makes my heart ache. One of my favorite places in the world, and the entire situation is completely pathetic.
I'd love to keep track of only the top flight, but that is apparently impossible when following Kaiserslautern.
