I wonder how the tax revenues would compare if neither country ran a deficit.

    :ROFLMAO: Off topic but:

I absolutely love how cons are obsessed with Obama's black voters.

    Especially this

Low tax, low regulation, highly militarized, non-existent safety net, socially conservative and extremely religious.

I grant that it's not totally fair, since they started out so far behind the U.S. and had to do with massive amounts of meddling from the U.S., but the last 20 years have seen an influx of right-wing tax refugees from the U.S.A and Europe.

I think everyone understands that there's no utopia. But is there anywhere in the world where the hallmarks of American conservatism - minimal government interference in the marketplace, low taxes & spending and religious fundamentalism - work in a society that's stable, productive and humane.

Beyond Singapore and Hong Kong (and they're not perfect), I'm having a tough time thinking of one.

Their utopia is US minus 50, 85, 120 years pick your date. American conservatives are more reactionary than conservative.

The 120 years ago is the US before the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

Funny how the Libertoons love to pick those important dates too... I've had the discussion in other areas of the forum and for them the magic year is 1913... When the Fed and the Illuminati took over the US government...

No it's a good question that you are making into dumb.

Conservatives run into this problem constantly ... they have no role models. None of the good places in the world follow their precepts. So pretty much they do as you do and dodge the question. Otherwise, they'd be praising Sweden and Germany and Australia nonstop.

Conservatives have it wrong, the globe offers ongoing laboratory proof, and that's a tough position to argue from. Pretty much insults and mockery are what they can offer.

    Thus ... your post.

I was going to say Utah.
They even have a black Mormon convert of Haitian descent, Mia Love, running for a House seat who has swallowed all of the RW talking pts. "do it all on your own" and "we don't need big government helping people." That's tres awesome!

Because of course there is no way as a black woman she could actually believe it, right? The subtle racism/sexism in this post is awesomer.

Somebody threw Beulah a biscuit and she followed them home. Happens when someone's desperate for attention.

A generation ago she'd have been maybe dancing around a fire with a chicken's foot in her teeth. From there, it's only a short drop to where she is now.

Rep to you for completely belittling the memory of an American hero.

Jackie Robinson? Are you ********ing kidding me? She has a lot more in common with Pumpsie Green -- the first black player to finally break into the last all white team. The 1959 Boston Red Sox. Yep. 12 years AFTER Jackie Robinson made history, and when it was so common that the only news that was to be made by the signing was that it was ********ing pathetic that it took the Red Sox so long, and exposed the blatant racism of their owners.

So, congrats Republicans. If you elect this woman to congress, you will show the courage of joining a movement started by Shirley Chisholm and the Democrats a staggering 44 years ago. You think she would mind if we just call her Pumpsie Love to mark the occasion.

Sure you were Matt. Sure you were.

We were talking about her being the first at something, and you just happen to mention the most famous "first" in our nation's history and then claim you were talking about his politics? Pull this leg and it plays Jingle Bells.

Actually we weren't. We were talking about the integrity of Long's ideas based on her race. As we all know (or should know) Jackie was a Republican until the Goldwater nomination so it is possible for a black person, despite Auria's and Pizzaman's claims, can honestly hold conservative views without persuasion or being some sort of uncle Tom.

You brought up the first thing. Myopic as usual, Chris.

Let's hire more bad teachers who you can never fire. What a smart move that is

I rather hire more garbage men. The county would be cleaner at least.
