The Premier League currently has six London clubs, with half of them in danger of being relegated. What's the fewest London clubs that have played in a Premier League or First Division season?
For the first few seasons of the football league, there were no London (or any southern clubs at all for that matter). Not surprising since they played in a different league structure (and didn't allow professional players yet).
Since the premier league began in 1992, 5 in 96/97, 00/01, 03/04, 07/08, 08/09, 09/10, 10/11 The most London clubs in the top flight at one time is 8 in season 89/90 the clubs were, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, QPR, Wimbledon, Crystal Palace, Millwall and Charlton Athletic.
