Ok,comprende. But which of these "better" classicos plays for a canon? 100 years of playing and they don't even get a stinkin' canon?

Anywho, thanks for your attempt at educating me over soccer history. I think your condescending attitude is very effective in educating the illiterate masses, as well as alienating your fellow soccer fans. Or should that be"football" or "futbol" fans.

There are 3 in the world and that's it as far as SUPERclassicos just my humble opinion. They are...

1-Glasgow Celtic vs Glasgow Rangers>continuiosly held since the 1888 season
2-C.A. Boca Juniors vs River Plate>Seperated by 14 blocks in the B.A.
3-Real Madrid C.F. vs FC Barcelona>some insight to the make up of Spanish regions helps explain this one, and of course the success/stature of the two

AC Milan vs Inter and Lazio vs Roma would be there but they ground share and that takes away their SUPER status. Never the less they are classicos!

Major classicos can then go on to a massive list like Club America vs Chivas, Manure vs Man City, Flu vs Fla, Olypiakos vs Panathonikos and so on.

Re: Visiting Houston, things to do?

whats with all you , this is not soccer history , this is just proper and improper use of a term. And im not condescending , i got insulted how would you expect my attitude to reflect on this board ??? but as i said before im not here to try and change anyone i just figured i'd try and provide some perspective on what this means nuthin' more , if this makes me a bad person in your eyes then so be it ... if you wanna' jump on rooneys hairlines little insult bandwagon and all that mess fine you can...

Rooney , "SuperClassic" ???? this would imply that either of the to clubs are older football instittuitions that have some tradition ,, no way this can happen for FC Phalus and Dynamo ...
    1. its not Super
    2. its no were near a Classic yet

Anderson i think you have the right idea lets just call it a Derby and get on with it ....

Re: Visiting Houston, things to do?

    It's a super classic because:
    1. This is a Houston Dynamo forum
    2. I said so

Turn those links sideways and sit on them, thanks. Sometimes it's best to take things not as insults, but as a reflection of the simple fact that you might just be kind of annoying.

Dynamo V Dallas is a superclassico in my eyes *tears up* and my heart and you can keep your 50,000 fans, machetes and flare throwing.

If this bea make me badd purson so beee itttttt

Re: Visiting Houston, things to do?

I'm not jumping on anyone's bandwagon. Figopimp is a bandwagon all of his own. :D If you want to tiff with Rooney, go ahead.

You responded to my innocent post with some sort of explanation to what a superclassico was, then proceeded to be condescending...or at least that's how I interpret someone who ends their post to me: "Capicce' ,Comprende, Comprene' ya' cheeky slags......". If that was not meant to be condescending, then I apologize but that is how I read it. You may know more about soccer than some around here, but I equally guarantee you that you know less than some around here. Maybe I'm the one being touchy (my in-laws did just come into town).

Anywho, I think we're all soccer fans and can get along...most of the time. :D If you say that you weren't trying to be offensive, I'll take you at your word. I'll buy you a beer and then we can discuss how Pele was better than Maradona and why Eusebio would have been the greatest ever (even though he was Benfica). The ball is in your half. Cheers.

Re: Visiting Houston, things to do?

c'mon dude, i thought this was about clasicos or superclasicos, don't include pele and maradona in this, you already threw me off by saying pele was better than maradona, let's just stick to the topic alright!

i've said it before, dynamo vs dallas can become a clasico but we still need more: more heated matches, sold out stadiums, disqualify each other from playoffs or important matches, more titles(cups), etc
now just like this dude said, DC vs LAG are getting there but their fans don't seem to appreciate it yet, they don't seem to understand or care about the 2 best MLS teams playing each other. so be patient, one day you'll wake up and realize there's no reason to hate dallas nor to consider hd vs fcd a superclasico, who knows, the next best team could be kansas or the crew.

I was watching FSC last night and this call-in program was on with these two English guys who were talking a lot about this and that in the world of soccer/football and toward the end of the program they both asked the viewing audience not to forget to check out the "superclassico" coming up between Chitvas and Galaxatives. Go figure!

They're just being silly with those kinds of statements, everybody knows that Crew vs Wizards is the only true superclassico in the US.

A very smart person once told me that "perception is reality." If the Chitva and Galaxitive fans think it's a superclassico, it's a superclassico.

    Oh and BTW, don't respond 'cause I don't care!!!:p

    My mom says i'm funny.

Are you typing with your feet

I tried watching a Boca Juniors on tv the other day. I think the Dynamo would beat them easily. Probably by 10 or 11 goals.

you obviously care .... if you didn't you'd ignore all this and not participate in this thread at all , Chiva and galaxie fans dont consider this a super-classico the pundits do what they can to stir up emotion for television ratings and such..

Rooney you have even said anything useful in this whole damn thread ....you are obviously a kid , so do as you are told . piss off.....
