This thread is designed for the purpose of COSMOS fans to express or show their design thoughts regarding what they think the COSMOS MLS Adidas jersey should look like. With the launch of the unique new Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps uniform designs, I could not help but to imagine what an re-branded MLS COSMOS Adidas jersey would look like. Each time I look at the new AC Milan shirts I could see that style in COSMOS colors, I could see the shirt being a primarily yellow shirt with green strips with green shorts and sox. I think this would make a unique look for an possible MLS COSMOS team. I think the secondary COSMOS uniforms could look good in an all COSMOS blue.

Will the Cosmos go for the GREEN WHITE or for the WHITE YELLOW BLUE?

I hear you on that one and that's why I went with the AC Milan adidas template with the yellow being primarily the dominant color with green parallel stripes like the AC Milan set up, the fact we already have green in the league with Portland Timbers is the reason I thought a dominant yellow shirt with green parallel stripes would be different and stand out from the Timbers green shirts. But it could be a dominant white with green parallel stripes, but there are enough primary white shirts in the league already with LA Galaxy and Vancouver. They could go dominant green with yellow parallel stripes in the style of the AC Milan shirt also to be different from anything already in MLS.

Didn't somebody do one a while back, which was a white shirt, with yellow, green, and blue accents? That one was nice, as are the ones in this thread (KingsCountyFC, you rock!).

Another thought: Since the Cosmos' original colors were Brazil's colors (yellow, blue, green, white), couldn't they go back to that, and have something like an adidas version of Brazil's uniform?

first, i don't think it matters who has white home jerseys.
It's all different trim. And by now, there are no colors you can use uniquely.

I think they should go for the colors they were known for...
    white home, green trim...
    green away top.

Why mess with a good thing?
    1 people repped this.

Its a good look. Its the same template that RBNY used in 2009, and 2010 away kits. Something in the same general idea though is nice. I don't like the overstylized looks like some teams now (Houston, Timbers,). If they do a tech pattern, hopefully its subtle and not distracting like Vancouver's away kit which is my current favorite in the league.

Found this on Facebook this morning from one of the Cosmos's marketing people's page. What is the deal with Harrison, NJ being there though? If they play at RB Arena I'm gonna crap. They better be in their own facility from day 1.

Green and Yellow stripes would look too much like FC Tampa Bay (Rowdies).

IMHO nobody will be allowed to wear the number 10 jersey, that number still belongs to Pele

I know, but she was tagged by one of her friends. I just thought it was good for discussion. Another design to add to the pile.

I would think, just like the new MLS Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Portland Timbers, what we'll all see as an possible MLS Cosmos team will be a modern interpretation of the old team and the adidas uniform design would be reflective of the times we are in today.

I know you think the yellow and green stripes looks like FC Tampa Bay, but you could always go with blue and green stripes with blue shorts and sox as the primary and an all yellow secondary. If someone would do a mock up I'm sure it would be a hit with Cosmos fans as an modern interpretation of the old club...just keep in mind how drastically different both Vancouver and Portland's MLS versions look from their original designs with the D-2 league last year.

But what ever the look of the new Cosmos, the brand will be an automatic success in New York and around the World and that's a plus/plus for MLS.

The Cosmos could take the same route portland did and use a more city based look. Blue and Orange are the city's colors, or at least on the flag it is, maybe they could use that. The home unis can still be white and green. I had a mock up, but I can't seem to find a way to get it on the site.

you know it's not official since they are using the old logo, and they officially have a new logo.

So long as it's got the traditional-styled collars and has minimal yellow at best, I'll love it.

Wouldn't mind an Apple logo for our shirt sponsor but that's hardly a sticking point.

Post it on a file/image-sharing website like ImageShack then post the URL here.

If you cant figure out how to make your mockup into a jpeg, just press 'Print Screen' then paste it onto a clipboard and save it. I'd really like to see this.

Yeah, I think the focus on New York in the name of the club has importance when their rivalry is a New York area team based in New Jersey. The Fact they are the New York COSMOS as appose to just the COSMOS is intentional...but never the less, I think a COSMOS entry into MLS will have some alterations to the logo to modernize it a bit a la this year MLS versions of the Timber and Whitecaps new logos.
