http://sportdfw.com/2012/07/30/fc-dallas-brek-shea-curiously-absent-again-as-playoff-hopes-fade/ second to last paragraph of some interest?
Makes sense, given none of SH's statements from yesterday do. They contradict what he said last week when he was positive about Brek in practice. I aslo just don't understand the can't handle pressure comments. What type of pressure? How did FCD handle the pressure from LAG all game? We crapped our pants. Yet everyone who couldn't handle the high pressure from LAG gets a pass? How does DH handle the pressure which comes from FK's? Like shit. So the pressure doesn't seem to be related to actual performance. OR does it? Brek isn't playing up to his capabilities, so it's a pressure issue, yet many on this team aren't playing well, but they get a pass? As I've said all along there's more going on behind the scenes, and it was possibly a trade request. But being essentially forced to sell Brek to a Euro club when his value is quite low is poor business from FCD's point of view. If only they actually invested in this roster....
I don't know if I should feel positive or not about this one: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/07/30/pressure-expectations-proving-be-too-much-shea
Well Torres just saw red down in Mex for dissent and losing his cool. Obviously he can't the pressure, so I'd expect his coach to hold him out indefinitely, while contradicting himself in the media over the next few weeks, and wait until Torres can magically show he can better handle pressure at some point in practice. I mean, that's what good coaches do, right?
lol He's got some "life in his legs." Is that encouraging? I'm still not sure. And I'm not sure being left off the roster two weeks in a row would take the pressure off me much, it'd increase the pressure for the next game...
When Schellas was asked about when Brek would play again, he really seemed to be trying to say nothing with a lot of words.
Isn't this our own boomersooner's byline? Maybe I'm late on noticing him getting articles published on Major League Soccer Soccer.com, but Congrats Daniel!
prediction: it would be absolutely par for the course and perfect karmic alignment if brek ends up in houston and goes on to regain his nats form under goppingen in time for the game in kc on 10/13.
Schellas is so full of crap and he's using the bully pulpit to smear Brek and cover over his own inadequecies. What an a$$ hat. He's acting just like Greg Ryan when he threw Hope Solo under the bus and then turned the team against her. Too bad Hyndman won't get fired like Ryan did.
That it would but its a big if. Right now I don't see him being traded to Houston even if that's where he wants to go does anyone here think that Houston will give us anything good for him? If we where to deal him to Houston then it would have to be a deal that involves Will Bruin or Colin Rolfe and a D-man. I don't see them giving up Bruin, Rolfe maybe point is that if one of them is not part of the deal then no way do I make a deal with Houston.
The narrative in the above post maybe long past. If you take his comments in the Observer article as true, Brek's power play worked. He got his breakout season in 10/11. It comes down which reality you want to side with, Brek's or SH's. Once you step out of the SH's reality and into Jurgen's and Arsene's, coming back is kind of difficult. Who has leverage? Does FCD, MLS and US Soccer need Brek or does Brek need them. FCD operates under the impression it is an organization in good standing within the soccer community. These actions by SH has collateral damages which tells you his ego is still the major factor that keeps FCD in mediocrity
