Stokers here. Just because I want to shower the new team with Delilah!

Rangers has too many contentious links in Scotland, plus you'd probably alienate a lot of your potential Irish American fan base. No Old Firm bull crap wanted.

Texas runs into that Old Firm stuff all the time. Every time Sammy Sosa walks down the street, Irishmen that take pride in Celtic because their league is shite, tell him Rangers suck.

It's gotta be the Walleyes! It's original and doesn't isolate anyone.

I saw that guy in Rome! Walked right up to us and popped his eyes. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I Also vote for Cleveland Athletic. They Could base the crest on Charltons and maybe even form some kind of deal with them.

Two logos I made real quick. Oblivously, I'm a fan of the green, white, and black, but since Cleveland City is using it, I doubt the MLS club will. Forgive me I used the Walleye.

Fine, since you asked for it. I don't like the top portion of the shield, it should be a solid color not striped, it doesn't look right. Black would probably look best. As for the walleye, don't even get me started.

Heh, I'd love to have black and white stripes though. Magpies 2.0!

Oh c'mon, what's wrong with the walleye? What should the nickname be?

I think this is pretty fair and accurate.

I actually never realized this until I did further research (a few more google searches and page reads) into Cleveland soccer than I previously had:
Cleveland Shamrocks I really rep now.
I had no idea the name was actually relevant to Cleveland soccer.
And the marketing potential could be high.

The research would have been a lot quicker had you started at Big Soccer:

    ;)

It's okay though, it's not like you posted in that thread or anything. :D

    :D

Yeah, I somewhat gave up on that thread before it reached that point.
I did vaguely remember someone posting the name on here, but didn't see the history part.

Nothing like "a couple google searches" being "research" though. ;)
Guess I should of done hardcore research using the BS search funtion.

Now that I see you're the one who posted it, I see you haven't "repped" Shamrocks in this thread. And with that and the above post, what names do you prefer?

Alright, I can concede to Shamrocks. Historical significance for us purists, while you youngsters can call 'em 'Rocks for short, and they can play that silly Drew Carey intro on the JumboTron before each match. I'm sure the PD headline writers would call 'em 'Rocks as well.

BTW, if any of you soccer history detectives feel particulary brave, you can still find the remnants of what I believe is (was) Slavia Field down off of E 55th where Independence Road once intersected. Big empty field off a dead end (Brow Avenue).

But if I win the lottery or a lawsuit and trump 'Stein for the franchise, it will be Stokers.

Bulldogs, Shamrocks, Stokers all sound good to me.

Jerry, maybe they could line up Mad Dog Hot Sauce for a kit sponsor & still incorporate your flames up/on (or coming out of) the shorts!

I didn't think I was trolling. I just thought it would be funny. All of this stuff with names doesn't have to be taken too seriously. In the end it's still just a soccer team.
