I've been looking for news everywhere. I really want this event to happen. I know CONMEBOL said it was official but CONCACAF said an announcement was premature. Anyone have more information?

Sunil basically said that it would only happen if it was considered official for CONCACAF teams (meaning they could force clubs to release players). That is unlikely to happen, so the idea is probably dead.

Here's the latest from CONCACAF president Jeffrey Webb:

Bottom line, it's up to FIFA. CONMEBOL still seems to think that it's going to happen. But CONCACAF doesn't want to do it unless they can get it put on the FIFA calendar and have their best players available. Stay tuned, there's still three years until the date.

It would be a true Copa America and hopefully both confederations can manage to keep it alive.

How is this still not approved or turned down? What factors need to be considered? It's a WIN-WIN for everyone.

Not for the clubs that hold player rights.

Another chance for their investments to get hurt.
