I guess he could play at spurs and be in some sort of rotation with VVD. I just don't want to see him only playing in Carling Cup games.

It depends on how a team plays.

I hope Harry stays put. England is fools gold. There are 5-7 teams better than England right now. The rabid fanbase (or more likely media) will only accept semi's as "success", which is attainable, but by no means probable. They just aren't that good right now compared to Spain, Holland, Germany, France, or Italy if they get hot. Then you've got the two home teams. I expect Ukraine to do well. It's going to be very hard.

I hope Dempsey stays put. Fulham have a chance to be very good in a year or two if they can get some stability at manager. I think they can shoot for Euro league. I know that isn't what he's looking for, but I fear that he'll end up riding the pine at a bigger club.

Not that I think he isn't good enough to start at a UCL club. He is, but he's still American, and that means you're going to have to be better by some margin than a comperable player to see time at most clubs. It is the way of the world right now. If he leaves for a bigger club, I hope he and his agent pick wisely.

A good German team could be a good spot. Maybe Italy, but the reduction to 3 UCL teams means there is no guarantee for a Udinese/Lazio/Napoli type team to make it. I don't think he can play for Milan, Roma, Inter or Juve right now. I don't think Valencia can afford him. That would be an interesting spot maybe. France...No way PSG will pick him up. OM plays a 433 that doesn't seem like he'd fit in. Lyon or Lille? Maybe, but Lille wont spend that kind of money.

I think he is and I'm not a US fan, so i'm not overrating him. Though I do seem to think that Dempsey takes some games off from time to time. Seems like he plays uninspired some games. I think with his skills set, maybe a move to Spain wouldn't be a bad idea, maybe a team like Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal.

does it really matter that i call them ac? anyway no to tottnham because of van de varrt and modric, no to marselle as the play with a three man midfield, no to chelsea fat frank and they can buy someone better. that really leaves a few teams.....hes better than arteta at arsenal in my opinion....after that its italy, spain, france, or germany....all places that dont speak english...aka a foriegn language country...sorry for the mixup spartucus.

Cant't imagine Clint having more trouble with -say- Spanish than with your language.

And of course by that I'm referring to the use of the term "doosh" and not to the malfunctioning of Internet Explorer's spell check.

I'd like to see Clint go to a club where he will get regular minutes and I doubt he would at a Arsenal/Tottenham type of club. I know PSG had some interest in him and I think one of the top 4 clubs in France (Lille, Marseille, PSG, OL) would be a step in the right direction. The Portugese league could also be a good choice, we've seen Oguchi have success there, ideally Porto or Benfica. Fulham at this point is going remain a mid-table team and I'm not sure how much Deuce likes that.

Clint is a top 10 EPL goal scorer with almost no real playmakers helping him, you give him a club like arsenal and he would be unstoppable, he's for sure better than arteta...he could start for a number of champions league teams, there are not many Mids that are playing better than Clint right now in the world, guy was making the Italian defense look exposed...guy can Play ball, he's in his prime...he needs to move to an arsenal or Liverpool...or go to a major Spanish or Italian squad, guys ball control skills are just sick

Yeah, really. Dempsey is many things, and he's great at them, but he's not a playmaker. He's the guy who is always looking for the goal.

Plus, again, the age thing. Not just because Wenger is known for his love of youth but because Arsenal are rebuilding and a 29 year old is not going to be seen as a player for the future. (As I said before, I don't really buy into this view, because American players are very physically trained and don't get worn down as easily, but it's a view that most European coaches are going to have because of how their players are brought up.)

I'd like Donovan to be Top 5 in Premier League goal scorers.

But I'm sure he's comfortable scoring against Sporting Kansas City though.

Even in the thread talking about Dempsey you have to nail LD, eh? Classy.

I'm just excited to see Clint doing what he's doing because it means great things for the national team. He gets to go where he wants to go. I'm doubtful that a CL team in England ponies up the bucks. So unless he goes to Germany/Italy, I see him staying at Fulham. Would love to be proven wrong. But he's done great things for them, and they are a decent side. Just wondering if things have gone stale for him there. With his goal scoring streak though - it'll be interesting to see if Fulham can build around him this summer.

But for the Nats, his form is exciting. And once LD gets back from his quad injury and uses his playmaking skills? Add in Fabian Johnson? I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THEM TOGETHER. It's going to be GOOD.

    Is May here yet?

He's going to command a pretty decent chunk of change. If I were Fulham I would seriously consider selling now and using that money to reinvest in the team.

And if I were Dempsey I'd be looking for a big move as maybe a last challenge to an excellent pro career. He's on cloud 9 right now and will be in the U.S. hall of fame. There is no shame in taking a big risk and failing. There is shame in not taking that risk at all.

I agree with you on Fulham, just don't know if a CL side is going to do that - plunk the change.

I think we're saying the same thing in terms of his career - I just don't see it as a failure if he ends up staying with Fulham. Sometimes these things are out of your hands - he needs a team to come to the table. If none don't, shouldn't reflect on him.

If he stays at Fulham he will still be a hero and one of the all time best.

I was simply saying that I think he is the kind of guy who wants to take that risk, that a CL team and Fulham could come to an agreement, and that I would be happy to see him make that move.

LD is too scared to leave his comfort zone which is a shame really because of the kind of talent he has. I wish he had balls like Dempsey who has no fear playing against the best in the world. And I hope Dempsey shows Landon who is the real BOSS when he is playing in the Champions League next season.

You guys are underestimating Dempsey his goal is to play in the CL and I believe he will get his wish this summer, I really think Arsenal will get him since they tried to get him last summer.

    Sigh.

One would think it would hurt some of you to root for both at the same time.

You hope that Dempsey shows Landon who is the real BOSS.
