    Brazil...

Exactly... If we won the 2 first games that gives the coach a chance for the 3 game to rest some players and give others the opportunity to play

I think we control at least 70% of possession against Greece. But that may play into their game plan. They are good in areas we are weak. They like to counter. They love Free Kicks. They love Corners.
The key will be to unlock (pun intended) their defense and score early. Once that happens it will get the crowd in yellow all pumped up and we can do all our fancy moves and confident dribbling for more goals.
If they score first it is going to be a long day.

Ivory Coast is similar. I have seen Senegal and Nigeria keep the ball away from their stars. They are a bunch of good individuals but they lack a cohesion that we have. So I think we will keep the ball and play toque-toque-toque as we have under Pekerman in Barranqilla.
They love to counter and guys like Gervinho, Drogba and Kalou are deadly and do not forgive mistakes. They also are decent on set plays so our back line has to be ready and focused at all times.

Japan has probably the best technique and the best chance of keeping the ball away from us if they get hot. Their problem is usually mental since they don't get results against teams from Latin America. They looked really Frustrated against Mexico in the Confederations Cup for instance, and constantly missed opportunities.
By this match hopefully we have 6 points so it is a moot point but this can be our toughest match.

What worries me about Greece are those Counters I don't know if is worth it to go with a Sanchez Valencia duo in the mid, then James Cuadrado Arias Bacca can link in the ofensive freely with Jackson as target man waiting for a cross or Airball (that's if Falcao is Injured)

For Ivory Coast we basically need to have as much possesion as possible, that way they cant do damage and also they will loose patience and will start earning stupid yellows, when this happens; it will be a great game to include someone like Guarin who can dribble a lot and get the other team even more frustrated. Also we need physicall presense in the mid.

Japan will be more of that same posesion game that we display

    contra Grecia arrancaria asi...

    Zuniga---Zapata---Valencia---Armero
    -------------------Aguilar----------------
    ------Aldo------------------------James
    --------------------JGC-----------------
    -----------Teo--------------Jackson

The things that make me feel very confident are:
    1) We have the best manager in the Group (and possibly the tournament.)
    2) There's going to be a lot of Colombians in the stands along with Brazilians who will cheer for us cause of the style and flare we bring to the pitch. Joga Bonito.
    3) Our players have a winning mentality not only in South America but in Europe with their clubs.

Ibarbo and Cuadrado would really frustrate the Africans with their ball control and moves. They'd be hacking at their legs all day like a lumberjack with a new axe.

I never understood the theory that a player is still young to start or have a significant role. Talanted players need to be on the pitch regardless of age even if they're 40 years old if they still play at a high level. Didn't you just witnessed Russel Wilson, a 2nd year QB win a super bowl or better yet, do you remember how Tom Brady was thrown into starting line up after Bledsoe (SP?) had injury? I believe he was a rookie or maybe 2nd year player (And a nobody because he was 7th round pick) that took Patriots to Superbowl and won it. What would have been of Tom Brady if they would have decided to sign a veteran scrub QB instead of giving him a chance?

I agree but keeping in mind Pekerman and what he has done in the past he may just try to ease in a guy like Quintero like he did Messi in 2006. Off the bench mostly except the third match when they already qualified.

Anyone can have bad debut but talent will eventually shine. Not saying he should start because they are guys in great form ahead of him but definitively should see action on the pitch.

not true...he also plays agianst serbia and scored (second match) and agisnt mexico in round of 16, where he had a bad match

otherwise pekerman trust in mascherano, since he was 20 as starter...and play all that tournament with 21 years

if someone give confindent and when to youngster is pekerman

Do you seriously think I watch footbal???

What you are saying does not conflict what I said at all.
He was eased in as a sub. Then he started.

Pekerman is a smart guy. I know he will give Quintero solid minutes to see if he can become his ACE under his sleeve for playoffs round.
Beisbol?

Mascherano at DM he found due to a microciclo in South America. And of course everyone knew at River he was going to be solid for a long time. He impressed Pekerman a lot at a position they really needed to be filled.

Quintero is at a different position and in a different situation.

As I have said in other posts it would be nice to see Quintero and James start side by side in a friendly just to see how it goes.
But it seems like Pekerman is now in love with James and Cuadrado starting together.

I did not say Messi was only used in the third match. I said he was used off the bench until the third match (in which he started).
