the Flogging Molly cd I have is "Float" which I really enjoy. After seeing them last night I'll be looking into others.
Picked up a few albums the last few weeks which I really like. -Killer Mike "R.A.P Music" -El-P "Cancer for Cure" -Alabama Shakes "Boys & Girls"
seen these guys back in Feb. they opened for Janes Addiction, they just came back to Columbus at the Basement over the weekend. For only 2 guys, they put out a lot of sound...check em out.
Listening to "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" by Red Hot Chili Peppers getting ready for the show tonight. Anyone else going?
Went to Radiohead at Blossom last night. Saw several guys walking around in Crew jerseys. Anyhow, here is what they played: Bloom 15 Step Kid A Weird Fishes/Arpeggi Staircase I Might Be Wrong The Gloaming Separator Like Spinning Plates Morning Mr. Magpie Climbing Up the Walls Identikit Lotus Flower There There Feral Idioteque House of Cards Myxomatosis Supercollider Reckoner Give Up the Ghost Exit Music (For a Film) Paranoid Android
Niki & The Dove--Instinct Diplo--Express Yourself EP Killer Mike--R.A.P. Music Usher--Climax (single, produced by Diplo) These are three great albums and one great track.
Also forgot to mention: Santigold--GO (featuring Karen O). The single. Tallest Man on Earth--There's No Leaving Now. The entire album. One other thing, for those new parents out there, don't ever let your kids take control of the music in the car. Never. At any cost. When Justin Bieber came out, there was this backlash of people wanting to hurt him/kill him which I didn't understand. I do now. Same goes for Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and Adele. I don't want to hurt or kill any of them but I'd be fine if I never heard them sing a song, again. The only saving grace is that my daughter can and does sing "Still Be Around" by Uncle Tupelo and "Long Way Home" by Tom Waits by heart. I refuse to give in!! EXCELSIOR!!!!!
Last 10 on the ipod: ABBA - Fernando (en Espanol) Randy Travis - Storms of life Burl Ives - The blue-tail fly Mannheim Steamroller - Sunrise at Rhodes Kingston Trio - Remember the Alamo Corries - Annie Laurie Corries - Scotland the brave Earl Thomas Conley - Holding her and loving you Frank Sinatra - September of my years Theme from NCIS
Still not listening to much new, haha. Last 2 days had some podcasts, the entire Cocteau Twins catalog, and The Ocean Blue. Oh, and watched the live Cure broadcast today from the Werchter Fest.
"Only Time Will Tell" by Jimmy Buffett. Banana Wind is a VERY underrated album. Probably not your cup of tea for all you hipsters out there, but away from all the parrothead/margaritaville mania, the man is a master storyteller. *****EDIT I started reading from the beginning of this thread, and I'm convinced the alternate title (that I can't see) to this thread is "Make some shit up about band names to see if Ian has any f*cking clue what you guys are talking about". I swear to God you guys are making these bandnames up.
SERIOUSLY. This post was from 4/21/2011 and it's the first post where I've recognized, much less liked more of the artists than not recognized. Damn. I still think y'all making shit up. "yeah....so we went out and caught The Porngraphic Iguana over at the LC".....
