It is now summer. All the European seasons are over or are coming to a close. However, this is a big summer for US Soccer. But since this is the NSR-Liverpool section, what is everyone doing this summer? I am coaching U-10s and playing U-19s in club soccer this summer. I am also working for Dominos Pizza. Oh and I am going to have a fun summer with my friends because there is not much else to do in Bismarck, ND besides play sports, work, and drink beer. How bout you?
It all depends on if this knee really that bad. Could be a torn ligament. If so, it will be a long, hot summer with a knee stabilizer for constant companship--otherwise I'll be in the garden a lot.
I won't be coaching this season. Last summer we bought a little fold up camp trailer and loved it so we'll make good use of it. I've got my little 26 foot sailboat (San Juan 7.7) as far as the shipyard. I hope to have that in the water at the end of June. Finish work on a nice afternoon, row out to the mooring, toss the sail covers off and have a couple of hours sailing the islands. Not forgetting to drop the crab pots on the way out. Cracked crab salad and cold white wine at sundown. If any of you are up in Utsalady Bay on a warm summer evening with a six pack of good beer under your arm....... consider yourself as crew...
Work, work, work. Being an adult sucks. I'll make the odd weekend trip to Columbus for a Crew game (heading up this weekend, actually), try to get to the lake on the weekends, and daydream about Liverpool's 2007-08 season and the start of college football. Oh -- I'm closing on my first house next week. It's an old home (although that's a relative term; the house LiverpoolFanatic was talking about in another thread has at least a couple of centuries on it) in an old neighborhood, so I'll have plenty to do there to keep me busy. And, how could I forget, since the lady friend and I are both in our mid- to late-20s, we're at that wonderful age where it seems like we've got a wedding to go to every other weekend. I've done three since the last weekend of April, and we've got at least four more to go before Labor Day.
watching DC United play at home every other week. The family is taking a two week vacation in the west of Ireland at the end of June -beginning of July.
I used to love the High Siera, before the Pacific Crest Trail went in there were a few lakes you could go to up to with no trail to them. You wouldn't see another soul for the 3 days or so you were there. A couple of them had some Golden trout for outstanding fishing and eating. We found place for really nice smokey crystals, just laying waiting for picking and in the circe above Chicken Spring Lake there was an old WWII plane that failed to get across during a storm. I still have one of the instuments from it in my toolbox. The Siera Club moved it all out years ago. Climbed Mt Whitney twice in one day. That was from Summit lake though, I opened my day pack at the summit and pulled out a 6 pack, stunning the bastards who were with me. You'll have fun.
Hopefully I'll be in Venezuela for the Copa, then going down to Rio for the Pan Am Games. Otherwise, working.
Yeah, I was going to try and fit in the Gold Cup semifinals in Chicago into my summer plans but unfortunately I am coaching that weekend. Too bad my lazy assistant coach refuses to travel, but then again shirking responsibilities is not good.
So I leave tomorrow. I'll be back in contact this August. Hope to see some flashy new signings upon my return.
That's gorgeous man, I'll been spending most of my time in front of this PC praying for new signings.
Yea me too, pretty much. I'm still hoping to go upstate new york for some hiking and camping....I need to get away from the city every now and then. Also have to find myself a new job to save up for the Euro Cup next year. It's been a while since I've been to Europe.
I havn't done much this summer, but i'll be in New Jersey in about a month to see this concert... http://www.rockthebells.net/ with a buddy of mine that lives there. Should be pretty fun.
I like the summer and the sun, even though I burn easily. Even though I like college much better than home right now.

Looks like someone pulled the Cork....and Ireland sank...!!! Nudge, nudge..... get it..? Nice pics LB, The golf looked like fun, no wonder the Irish team does well on the manicured, plastic links the have here. thanks.
So, you're also a Tar Heel fan? You're all right, LB! I notice mini-LB isn't so mini anymore. I remember when I first met you two bright and early at Summer's about . . . I don't even now for sure . . . maybe 7 or so years ago on one of a handful of trips down from PA to catch a Liverpool match. Back then he was mini. Nice photos btw. The photos of the cliffed coastline remind me of Torres, Brazil about 3 hours from where I live. Both beautiful.
