Has anyone or would any be interested in joining a new supporters group? It would still be in the Cauldron and would not be anti-Cauldron it would just be better organized and more active than some of the current ones...any thoughts?

I say go for it as well - if you need help with anything, send me a PM. There's certainly a vacuum that someone motivated could step into and help fix.

It doesn't feel like any of the existing groups are growing at this time.

If your willing to shake hands and reach out to new fans I feel you'll be doing something that nobody else really does and you could get a decent group together in little time so long as you keep doing so. Things are pretty stagnant right now and some new blood could shake things up nicely.

    Good luck

What are the supporters groups this year? HS, Yardbirds, Souther Voodoo?. I would rather see supporters groups go away and have one huge one. Multiple ISG's just cause rifts. We should just work together under the name The Cauldron like it used to be. People need direction, but when there are multiple groups, everyone wants to do their own thing.

From my perspective, I think some of the fighting between one group and some others has been because of the wide openness of all the groups. If we had one giant group, they could speak to them directly through email or through the Cauldron forums or something, instead of the word of mouth nastiness that started then got worse as both sides went back and forth here.

We need regularity, something more in common than just following the Wiz. One big group, tailgates get bigger. One big group, more discussions of road trips and outside game activities would be discussed. I just think that it wouldn't hurt to try and merge all the groups together so we can create that unity.

I think the same as well but it was only a couple of years back that the Wizards (I believe) encourage the breakup into smaller groups. Not sure it has worked very well, but then I wasn't in the Cauldron before this so I can't comment.

It worked very well. Each group now is equal to the size of the cauldron/mystics at he time of a singular group.

The more the merrier. Now it is a matter of getting the groups together. In past other than HS I believe that everyone has been fairly apethetic to even a sitdown. That train of thought needs to stop.

One individual group causes rifts too, it's just not seen as a HS vs Yardbirds thing and instead as a intra-Cauldron rift. Things don't change just the perception of it does.

This is all opinion and perception. Everyone might not want to be in the same group is the problem. A few years ago we tried to start just one big Cauldron group, the problem was it was the same 10-15 people that showed up to those things. A Cauldron forum was tried and failed fairly grandly, with the perception that Bigsoccer could act as that forum (personally I still think an off BS forum would be better but that's my opinion). If you bring the groups back together into "one" you're not going to magically see the Yardbirds joining the HS tailgate or vis-versa.

Just because you say you officially dissolve the groups doesn't mean that you're going to have unity in the group or that everyone will tailgate with each other.

    Truth from Mike.

But with the exception of HS, how does one get in touch with Southern Voodoo if you wish to join? Why would you even want to? There is no information about them posted anywhere I have seen. Its not like they have a website or anything listed that they respond to. Or Barra? Or the Yardbirds?

HS is clearly the most organized group in terms of availability. In that respect it feels like they got most of the Cauldron Leadership and we created a lot of little close groups that have a name but don't really grow things much (at all?).

Even if there are factions it'd be nice to actually have some kind of over riding organization.

I am interested in starting a new group not because I want to be anti-anyone I just do not like organizations that do not reach out to new people, are not very well ran or organized. My vision is for the group to be loud with the use of any type of noise makers...I prefer not to use that vuvuzelas but if someone wants to then that is cool...but I want a group that is well organized from top to bottom..I have started writing out a few foundations but would love some help and or opinions...I also think I would like to keep the group small like starting off with a membership of no more than 50, then slowly expand...what do you all think? If your interested in talking about getting together and starting a new group email me at polo_guy_18@yahoo.com....also yard birds from what i know are invite only but are generally just a group of friends, same thing with southern voodoo...my group would have a website, facebook, etc we would go after new fans both young and old single game, multiple games, season ticket holder attenders as well as people in and around the kc area and around the usa.

The new stadium, and specifically the supporters club that serves as the entrance to the new section, is a major shake-up to the system. I am quite confident that supporters section season tickets will, at minimum, quadruple going into next year, and it could be well beyond that. There's plenty of room for people to start something.

Will the Cauldron Club be open all day, or will it open like the gates at Arrowhead etc. - 3 hours before kickoff?

Tossing my hat into the ring....I say go for it!!!

As long as we continue down the ISG path, the more the merrier. Having more ISG's that are fairly well organized would result in a better opportunity for an "all incompasing" Cauldron Leadership Group with representation from all groups. This was the plan, it just never materialized, in part due to not enough interest in the various ISG's.....and really there needed to be more ISG's.

Barring this.....I wouldn't be against possibly migrating back to a CAULDRON group similar to the structure prior to the the ISG formations.

Either way, good lunk and let me know if you have any questions that I might be able to help with.

News Flash: OnGoal out to screw its most loyal fans. Sam Pierron says cauldron tickets will quadruple in price and possibly go further than that over the next years.

Sorry my Fox News edition of your post.

For what my two cents are worth I cant see what the ISG's have done for us. This is not to say they should not be there, I just think all groups should be focused on raising the membership of the Cauldron. I think we need to bring people in like BlueandWhite that have some newly found passion to help lead the charge, but recruiting to the Cauldron not a different group. I envision the small groups being represented by banners in the rafters or on the walls of the new club but would love unity in the stands and in the parking lot.

I think the opportunity that we have going forward with the new stadium and club is the ability to really sell people on what we do in a game or two versus a season or years. We need to start pushing this now so we hit the new stadium running. This takes commitment to do the hand shaking and beer offering from everyone old and new no matter what corner you sit in or what group you joined (myself included). The tailgate this weekend is a great way to do this, it was always the best recruiting tool the group had. That being said, doing this needs the support of the team. We need support financially to put on the events and marketing through the teams resources to get people there.

I know that in the past there have been hard feeling over what the front office has or has not done to help grow the supporters section but we need to get a commitment. That commitment could only be for the rest of the season or through next year but some help would go along way. Many people have spent countless hours painting banners, making flag poles, hauling gear to and from games, cooking meals, and just spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the name of growing the supporters group. Its really the best time for the team to step up and help what is in their best interest going into the new stadium.

I don't want to seem completely ungrateful for what has been done for the Cauldron. I thank the team for the best seats at CAB, for one of the lowest price tickets in the stadium, for the free beer last year and everything else that has been done. To use a metaphor get us a bus and some gas money and we will pick up the people.

Not to ignore your question Blueandwhite, if you want another group go for it, I would rather you be a driving force behind the existing supporters group.

Now let have some exploding bacon and beer. Dammit its only Friday.

I am the "PR" guy ( if thats what you want to call it) for Southern Voodoo. We have a President, Vice President, Secretary, PR DUDE (ME), Foreign Corespondent and Groupies.

No we don't have an official website, other than the free FB or Myspace...and thats because we dont charge to be a memeber. We will however begin to do so next year. No it won't be as much as HS, only for the fact we are smaller, for now.

We are a group (mostly) of fans that drive from Southern Missouri to watch the games. We have started getting several KC area people as well but the the founding 11 were all from SOuthern MO. We accept all comers!

We don't try to compete with HS or other groups and encourage for everyone to join all of them or many as you can to show support in the early part of this entire process of building the Cauldron and non-Cauldron groups.

HS is the founding supporters group (just renamed) and we are mostly break-aways of them but still belong to them as well! We have watch parties down here since most of us can't be in KC during away games for the watch parties there or we would be all over it!!!!

We have t-shirts for $10 (2009-2010 season). The money we get from that (which has been minimal), goes back into the group for tailgates and what not. There will be new shirts available next season with the opening of the new Stadium. We don't have an account yet but we all contribute to the experience. During this next off season we will be working on the "memberships" part of the group. We have banners and flags but dont show them much yet.

Like I said it is harder for us to be in the "happenings" outside of game day because we are 3 hours away and now we have also a group coming from Nebraska (5hrs away), so getting to KC in the middle of the week is not always possible. We are growing in number but not as vocal as HS. We follow their lead, they are like you said the most organized group and the far the biggest. We will throw our support to any group and yes even the YB's!!!

I think any member of any supporter group should venture outside of their tailgate and meet the other groups. I have tried to get to some and will join any group to help out!!! Will I be able to go all their meetings (if they have them) or all their tailgates, no but We (SUPPORTERS GROUPS) are still pretty young with exception to the founding members of HS, was formely the CAULDRON. When this all gets really going I probably wont be a member of any other group other than SV and HS. I am not saying this is what everyone should do but this is what I will do.

So if you would like to be a part of the SV clan in anyway shape form or fashion, come on! We welcome all comers! More info will be coming later for "memberships" and what you get with it.

I'll be happy to work with you on hosting a website if you have somebody to build it. I'll host websites for any ISGs out there for gratis if you wish it. I just learned more about SV in one post than I have learned in the last couple of years.

Having information online and available and linked to by sites like the Wizards blog, Mikes site, mine, thads etc etc is the key to hooking people into groups. I imagine if I lived in Nebraska I would be thrilled to find there where other local fans going to games if I was driving up and down on my own etc etc. I'd love to have a unified calender of events going and a one stop shop for membership information etc etc.

Either way until the groups get pimped by the Wizards or related news sources its gonna be tough to grow them without handing out free beer.

A little support from the Wizards might be nice. The info on the supporters club page on their website is out of date. http://www.kcwizards.com/cauldron

Don't even think Nahuel is with the Wizards anymore.

As Sean said earlier, give us a bus and we'll bring you the fans.

I'm not a designer, but I am a web programmer and I can probably help out setting up sites for ISGs as well if it's needed. Of course, Northbank will probably set you guys up on some janky PHP server, in which case, you're on your own. ;)
