Yes, I'm a real football fan..as evidenced by me watching this game instead of the European MTV Awards (but only because Michelle Branch isn't coming :D )

Vitesse is the only Dutch team still playing in the UEFA Cup, and are going into this match with the 2-1 win at home in the 1st leg. One might expect the Germans to put a better show at home than they did in Holland though, when both teams were pretty blah...with Vitesse being slightly less blah.

Added note, it's up to Ajax and Vitesse to rank in those European points to get Holland that 3rd Champion's League spot back..luckily no Greek team made it to the 2nd round of the CL, but the added points Vitesse can bring to the table won't hurt at all...especially with the Greek clubs possibly still advancing in the UEFA Cup.

Game will start in a few minutes...

    ...................Jevric.........................
    Cornelisse..Zeman..Stefanovic..Frankle
    Levchenko..Rankovic.Janssen..Claessens
    .............Amoah......Peeters..............

Verlaat is playing for the Germans, let's hope he scores one for Vitesse again

Frankle almost had a Rsaza moment, but the Germans couldn't take advantage of his wrong defending.

It looks like Vitesse won't be trying to defend their lead, but instead choose to play attacking football. Good.

Good save by Jevric...shot by one Micoud or Micout or whatever the fool is called.

The corner kick gets defended nicely

    Motherfu....

With a little more luck Vitesse could have scored from a pre-studied free kick.

15th minute and the teams are looking pretty equal so far, small chances to score at both sides of the field.

    Daiimmmmnnn...

The Germans so close to a goal...but the guy missed after totally leaving the Vitesse defender in the lurch.

    Daiiiiimmmmnn...

Another great chance for the Germans while I was writing about the first. Ailton runs away from all the defenders to go clear to the goal...but shoots wide.

    3rd time is the charm...

The Germans (boo!) score from a free kick, Bauman just slightly touching the ball to leave the goalie crying like a little girl.

    Werder Bremen - Vitesse 1-0

I think there are only 3 to 4 Dutch guys on the field at the moment..and one of them is playing for ze Germans.

Yeah, Purrel, Cornelisse and Janssens are the Vitesse Dutch guys and Verlaat is the Bremen Dutch guy.

    Anyway, I hope Vitesse wins.

Dammit, the Germans are getting some good chances to score the 2nd one, they should stop doing that already. Sheesh.

Another free kick for Vitesse near the German goal...

    ...Goddamn!..

Amoah shoots the ball goes against crossbar

    36th minute

    Early sub for Vitesse...

Injured Zeman is out, sub Mustafa is in. An attacking player for a defender by the by.

Mustafa is a nice player from what I've seen. Jong Oranger if I'm not mistaken.

He did good the last time, hopefully he can make a difference this time as well.

Corner for Vitesse...taken badly. Vitesse still have control of the ball, and Levchenko shoots a cannonball just wide of ze German goal.

    It isn't over yet :D

Well, it's not as funny as the funny ones you're talking about..but the texts written on the packages are still hilarious (thanx to the Dutch government)

2nd half began with a strong Vitesse...but the dirty and smelly Germans score a (has to be said) amazing long distance goal.

    Werder Bremen - Vitesse 2-0

Oh my God....things happening so fast. Vitesse get a penalty!

Dirty and Smelly Germans is redundant

My apologies to all dirty and smelly Germans ;-P

The best smoking warning that I've seen is in Canada where they show a wilted cigarette and it states that cigarettes make you impotent.

    Funny stuff.

    FORZA VITESSE!!!

Penalty was caused by Verlaat (heh) by the way, he tackled Amoah who had a clear shot at the goal...he got the yellow card in the progress.

They only write that on the packages over here.

The best one I saw was Australian, and they had this tube thingie which is in your throat from a dead guy, and they showed how it looked liked if you smoked, squezed it, and showed all this disgusting slime in it....almost made me stop smoking. Scary.

Good match this is starting to become, the play is going up and down the field..up and down, up and down. You feel a goal coming, you just don't know which of the 2 will make it.

Good chance for the Germans, a cross by their Canadian (blame Canada) was just too sharp for Ailton, or he could have kicked it in easily.

For a (stupid) normal foul by Rankovic, he gives him the red card. A normal foul you see 20 times on the field. The horror! The humanity!
