Klasnic has a date with doctor Kindermann in Saarbrücken tomorrow. If he gives his OK he can start training with the team again. Wome has still not recovered from his knee injury and went to France to have it checked there. Fritz and Borowski might be back in team training next week.
hmmm 4 cones, 4 footballs as well.... Great news on the injury front guys. I'd say 2 weeks till all three german internationals are back? And hopefully klasnic soon as well.
Carlos Alberto is under strong medical administration because his body breaks down under heavy training, when he's back with the squad, it goes well for two days, and on the third he gets slight injuries and problems, according to Klaus Allofs. Apparently this is caused by sleeping problems that he didn't have before moving to Bremen. Aaron Hunt's injury is supposedly much worse than everybody thought: The doctors have no idea when he will be ever able to play again. The knee is giving him some problems, but his groin hurts the most.A problem is, that he can't fix his problem through an operation. He tried individual training, but the pain instantly came back, he's being quoted saying "it just makes no sense this way". The sad story is that Werder can't really count on Hunt and Klasnic, for a very long time.
No update on Klasnic before the Stuttgart match. It will take him some time to regain true match fitness to be really useful. If he can start training with the team, and getting a few minutes here and there, things will get better, but Klasnic hasn't seen any action since forever, so even stepping on a football field for a few minutes of a game would be huge progress.
It´s only speculation, but it´s not unlikely, that it has to do with the difficult transfer, the tax investigations in Brasil and his situation so far. update: Sebastian Boenisch and Patrick Owomoyela are missed for the matches against Stuttgart and Wolfsburg. Owomoyela got a light injury at the warm-up before the Real match. Fritz and Borowski are optimistic to participate in team training "in 4 to 5 days".
CA's sleep problems are the strangest... after all, it's hard to find a quieter, more sleep-condusive city than Bremen. Maybe they should make a recording of the ambient noise in his hometown and play that while he tries to sleep? For all you know, his sleep problems might be because it's *too* quiet in Bremen at night.
Hell, no, it´s getting longer. Baumann is injured, a radio station spoke of a week injury time, but on the club homepage Baumann says, he received the same injury like Borowski did in Bochum and will propably be missed for the next 6 weeks. We have to wait until the thing is cleared, but he´s not in the Wolfsburg squad. The squad for the Wolfsburg match is: Wiese, Vander, Pasanen, Naldo, Mertesacker, Tosic, Jensen, Harnik, Vranjes, Diego, Schindler, Almeida, Kruse, Rosenberg, Mosquera, Artmann, Sanogo, Niemeyer. This means, that Peter Niemeyer or a midfielder from the reserve team (Kruse or Artmann) have to play in the starting 11. This is simply a f*** this season, the players currently playing stand under an enormous physical pressure, because Schaaf can´t rest any of them (against VfB we had 4 strikers, 1 midfielder and 1 goalie on the bench and the midfielder was from the reserve team) and so it´s no surprise, that new injuries occur.
Clemens Fritz returned to the team-training today. It´s no sure now, if he will be already fit enough to play this weekened in the BL. "I am happy to be back, but i am not sure, if i will be ready for the weekend match. But what are a few days compared to my long injury." Tim Borowski did today a performance test and espects to be back in team training in a few days, but the match at the weekend comes too early for him. Carlos Alberto and Thorsten Frings need more time to come back, but they are making improvements. Today they did an individual running training. Diego and co. had today a day without training, because the first team players had to play every match nearly full time.
Yes, both need a break, but who should play for them ? The only not injured midfielders are Diego, Jensen, Vranjes, Niemeyer and from the reserve Artmann and Harnik, but he´s better as a striker. An option, that Schaaf can take, is letting Fritz start as right midfielder, but this leaves the problem, that we have no good substitute options for the central attacking midfield position. This injury series is really a curse.
I have never seen or perhaps ever heard of Artmann. What position does he play? Is he a good player? And what happened to Schindler and Andreasen
21 years old left midfielder from the reserve, his playing style is similar to Borowskis style (but surely not of the same quality) He was last season the best player there with 12 goals and 5 assist. This season he has 1 goal and 3 assist in 8 RL matches so far. Oh, i just read, that Artmann and Schindler are in the squad of the reserve team for their match in Berlin. Max Kruse, a 19 years old offensive midfielder is instead in the squad (see match thread for the squad).
Ok, I'm hoping the Borow and Fritz will be available for the Olympiakos game. While Frings and C.Alberto I hope they'll be ready for the Lazio game. Any news one how Wome is doing? It's been a while since I last heard about him?
Yes, both will be most propably in the squad, because Frintz already played today and Boro will have 3 more days of training. Today Wiese and Niemeyer got injured, Wieses injury is nothing serious, there is a question mark for the CL match, but propably he can play. For Niemeyer i am a bit sorry, because he had a good week in Wolfsburg and today.
