    DDr on Montella:
"I felt good playing under him. The experience of Catania confirmed he is a good coach. I'm glad of his return "

    Welcome home
Reports are saying that he'd probably take Francesco Lodi and Alejandro Gomez with him as well. Gomez would be a great addition for us.

I also feel the excitement of Montella returning. He held a 1.85 points per game average in his eight games in charge of us, LE left Roma with a 1.39 points per game avergae for the season.

My hope is that he can craft a future style for Roma in its own image and not in Barcelona's.

It really was. People just didn't know how to defend against it. Totti was so far back that their defensive line had to push up very often(or leave Totti unattended), and Vucinic/Mancini then had a lot of space for quick counters.

An awful choice, if Luis Enrique was in experienced then it seems silly to go another inexperienced coach. Especially one is very much still to close to being a Roma player. Worst of all if it happens it will have been a choice completely dictated and decided by the media. Signifying and incredible weakness in the management.

I really don't understand what's stoping us from getting Zeman.

While not my 1st choice after getting rid of him last season, I think you all being way over the top on him. He is a good young manager and I am sure he has his own ideas and opinions. You's dont want inexperience but were happy with appointing AVB?

I think there is plenty of experience separating the two, to deny it is just plain stupid.

I will be totally pissed if Montella turns out to become our coach this season (happy I will be starting a time-consuming work in Singapore and won't have much time to watch games live)...

I do hope he will make eat my words, but I highly doubt it...And again, his record at Roma does not speak of anything - he failed to achieve anything...

Go for AVB, Zeman or even buy-out Spalletti (he is worth more than any player)

Montella's Catania went 1 win, 4 draws and 5 losses down the stretch in the last 10 games. That's terrible. BARF!

“He’s already proved what kind of Coach he is,” the 2006 World Cup winner [Totti] added. “When he worked here before, I was dropped in his first game…"

And the continuation probably is: "but then he had to field me as the lone striker for the rest of the games"

He had one sucessful year in management, managing a great side. With that team LE may have done similar things, its a possibility.. How can you be so sure AVB is not another flash in the pan? It was the reason I voted for Guidolin who is tried and tested here. AVB's results may not have looked to much different to LE's if he was here last season.

and they finished on the other side of the table - not a big achievement (wow, even Donadoni did better than him and definitely Parma is not better than Catania)
