2 observations from that video. 1. If we're getting the guy Bolton got we'll be getting an indispensable week in and week out First XI, quality player. 2. If he had Torres' playing time at Chelsea last season, he'd have probably scored somewhere in between 20 and 25 goals and we never woulda had the chance to buy him.
That's what I thought, too. It's clear that for most of last and this season Liverpool has missed the near post and centre of the box attack that Rodriguez brought. Maybe this lad can bright some of that back. PS Anybody else see Torres's picture on the bench as Demba Ba kept scoring? That was a picture, that was.
Completely jazzed about this move. I've followed Sturride's career and he is an exciting player that I think will fit in well here. He and Suarez will be electric. Can't wait!
Score on debut. CHECK Give United (and rest of league) a history lesson. CHECK The kid's doing alright early on. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20948372
"It took Fernando Torres 1,290 minutes to score 3 goals for Chelsea. It took Daniel Sturridge 99 minutes to score 3 goals for Liverpool."
I have to admit that I was rather sceptical of him when we were courting him. But, my word, has he changed my mind for me or what? I think Chelsea sold us its best striker by far.
Agreed. I was the same. I'm so impressed by how quick he is, especially on his turns. He easily makes a yard of space with that quickness with his body and the ball. Then, he adds speed running behind the backline and down the flank. And a bullet of a shot, he was unlucky not the score that second 20-yarder today. I remember seeing him at Chelsea and he just came off as selfish, always had his head down, impossible shots. Maybe he figured the only way he get in the starting lineup there was to score a lot, because I've rarely seen that in his game here. His linkup and holdup play have been fantastic.
Thanks to Sturridge, we don't have to hear anymore annoying analysts say sh1t like "Where would Liverpool be without Luis Suarez?"
he's helping Suarez out as well by taking away some of the attention from the defenses. this patnership will be fun to watch.
Nah. If the team for which he played is in the same competition, in this case Europa League, he's cup-tied. He wouldn't however have been had Chelsea still been in the Champions League.
Forgot that the Chavs crashed out of the CL... Kinda splittin hairs though, isn't it? Yeh, you can play Chelsea isn't in the Europa... O Oh, Chelsea have been 'promoted to the Europa, you CAN'T play!
sturridge didn't have a great match yesterday, but as far as the january window is concerned i just came across this stat: through 11 matches, sturridge and coutinho have combined for 6 goals and 9 assists. bargains.
