I agree that Hoddle is a little bit of a romantic but don't see a better alternative.
Plus, should we get promoted his name should be able to attract some big players, this is where Jones fell short perhaps.
Anyhow, big game v Sheff Wed. 2-0 to the Wolves is my prediction!

Jonah wasn't given any financial backing when we went up last time. Also, we had to adjust from playing the 4-4-2 that got us up to something that might just keep us up. Unfortunately the transition period was too long. At least if we go up under Hoddle we'll be used to playing a Premiership formation (however much I dispise it at the moment). And you're right, he should be able to attract some big name players. Would we have signed Anderton, Ricketts or Aliadiere if Hoddle wasn't at the helm? (Ok, Anderton wouldn't be missed and Ricketts has two poor games for every good one, but I guess they're still "big names").

Sheffield Wednesday? I don't hold out much hope. This is Wolves that we're talking about and while one week we can match the best in the division, the next we can lose to worst (I seem to recall that Millwall's first win of the season was at Molineux).

You really do have a Gregory fixation - it can't be healthy. There are professionals who can help with this sort of thing ;) Deadly has to go if Villa are to achieve anything. Anyway, it could be worse - you could be staring relegation in the face and just lost 7-0 at home.

    As predicted.

The season is still not over. In typical Wolves style, they're keeping a faint glimmer of hope alive. Palace lost, Cardiff and Preson drew. We've only lost one point on them with yesterday's defeat. It's frustrating since we could've gone above Preston had we won, but the fat lady isn't singing yet.

Wednesday's keeper had a good game. Opposing goalkeepers seem to raise their game against us. All three Wednesday goals were due to poor defending. Gyepes was largely to blame for the last two, and got injured during the third - out for the rest of the season by the sounds of things.

The ref was awful. I swear that if we'd scored in the first half, he'd have given it Wednesday's way. Not quite as bad in the second half - possibly due to the ironic cheers to every decision he gave to Wolves.

Miller got booked needlessly again (protesting about some sort of infringement in the build up to Wednesday's first goal). If he's booked in either of our next two games then he's facing a suspension. oddly enough, it was Miller who had to restrain Ince from giving the ref a piece of his mind at the end of the first half (about the same thing). Both Miller and Edwards were both subbed at half time, presumably as they'd both been booked.

Bottom line is that we didn't play as badly as the scoreline suggests. Should've won it after we equalised but our sloppy defending let us down (odd, bearing in mind how many clean sheets we've kept lately).

If I am not mistaken, George Ndah and Jackie McNamara could both be returning very soon

I was listening to Talk Sport on my way home from work, and guess which former manager they had discussing the problems at Villa. :D Gregory didn't say as much, but was surely hinting that O'Dreary was the problem. Hell, he even backed old Deadly. Perhaps he wants Ellis to give him the job again.

No. The Sun published a story that Hoddle's one year contract wouldn't be renewed. Smart. It's a rolling contract. Duh!!! You'd think the Sun would check it's facts... although when have they ever needed facts?

You seem to be linked with everyone at Wolves at the moment - Lescott and Cort are being tipped for a move across the Midlands. You don't want Kennedy as well do you? :D

West Brom, Blues and Pompey all seem to be picking up points - do you think Villa are safe yet? We're guaranteed some sort of local derby next season - just not sure who yet.
