¿Gio declinará Gio por motivos personales también en la siguiente convocatoria?

If JDS rejects us again/isn't playing i'm good with Chaton & Zorrillo.

I like Enriquez. I know some think he's a tronco and his passing sucks but you can't deny his destroyer qualities. Dude breaks up a lot of plays. He's a better version of Torrado. He is nowhere near his peak, give him some experience and he will shine...check that....he has already shined on one of the biggest stages against one of the biggest teams. I don't understand the stubbornness of Chepo to stick with old dudes playing out of position (Salcido).
He's gonna make mistakes no doubt, but he will grow up. Give him a shot.

Even when JDS did play for a bit with us, I thought we looked better with an old Torrado.

I'm all for this as long as we can get some silky offense wide again.

    It's all about roles.

While Enriquez isn't the most polished player, his contributions on the defensive end are huge. Same goes for Zavala, who most people didn't quite rate until he was injured.

With the current trends and personnel, a Zavala-Herrera partnership appears to be the way to go for Qualifiers but as much as I dislike Salcido, he obviously provides "leadership" qualities that the team believes in, even if I don't think much of him in a leadership role.

The inclusion of Pena and the return of Zavala should help.

I still don't think Chepo will bench Salcido, even though his limitations are quite obvious.

as i said before, i normally don't wish injury upon players but if Salcido were to pick up an injury that would leave him off the NT i would be happy

First time I heard anyone wanting torrado over jonathan considering everyone wanted jona to be his successor.

lol @ calling chaton a tronco. his style isn't pretty but he is good at what he does. if anything, zavala is the epitome of mediocre. he's pretty much gold cup/concacaf material.

Exactly, we have seen that what works in the middle is a defensive contencion and a more attack minded contencion playing together. This is why Herrera is so important, while we have several defensive contenciones, Herrera is out only attacking player that can play that position (hopefuly Jona can also play that role for us in the future).

Herrera - Cabrera is the best midfielder partnership that i have seen in recent years for Mexico.........that was against U 23 Concacaf teams thought!! :whistling:

Aren't Herrera and Jona a bit different though midfield - wise? I thought Jona was more of a centre midfielder and Herrera was more of an attacking one.

I think the way to go should be Herrera with Enriquez or Cabrera. Cabrera because we've seen how good they can be together and Enriquez because a destroyer would let Herrera shine in the attacking role.

As much as I like Peña, idk where he would fit. Even if Chepo goes back to the lineup he used in the gold cup, he'd most likely put Gio/Reyna/Fabian behind the striker, leaving the two midfield spots to two of Zavala/Salcido/Herrera/Enriquez.

I just watched the game in its entirety, and all I can say is that Mexico was lucky to get the point. To say that they were sleepwalking would be an insult to sleep walkers. One of the worst games I have seen in a long, long, time - and I have been watching since the late 70's.

you think if Jamaica had scored the one they missed around minute 10 the team would have woken up? or would we be talking about another Aztecaso vs jamaica?
