Hope is still listed without a club on the USWNT roster for the Algarve Cup.

As is Nicole Barnhart. Everyone else is finally accounted for.

Isn't Rasmussen primarily a wide midfielder? When I heard Washington traded for her, I assumed it was as a replacement for Sonia Bompastor on the left.

That would leave room for one of DeVanna, Press, or Masar to start up top with Abby.

Wherever I search - WPS, Wikipedia, UEFA - she's described as either a forward or a striker.

With the Beat Ras was mainly a Winger and wide attacking Midfielder. She is a great replacement for Bompastor and should be able to hook up with Abby with her precision passes.Ras is a terrific reader of the game as was Bompastor. IMHO you got the Beats Best. She will be your Stealth attack with DeVanna as the Blitz

My season tickets were refunded over the weekend. I didn't even request it - they just sent me an email saying they were refunding everyone's money. So much for that.... :(

Certainly doesn't sound like they will be playing any games in D.C. does it!?

The refund actually came from the Hendricks holding company that owned the Freedom. I have yet to get word one from the new organization.

    hahaha.

here are major companies. they could write the freedom off on their books as a side entertainment expense. dont blame new jack. you have the investors in DC.

AES: Energy; Arlington, Virginia; 2005 sales $11 billion (An energy, copagaz, comp is main sponsor of santos women)

Capital One: Credit cards; McLean, Virginia; 2005 sales $12 billion

Gannett: Newspapers USA Today and others; 2005 sales $7.5 billion; McLean, Virginia

Lockheed Martin: Defense; Bethesda, Maryland; 2005 sales $37.2 billion
(Fitz's companies was a govt contractor)

Mars: Candy; M&M's, Snickers, Mars bar, 3 Musketeers, Dove, Milky Way, Skittles, Twix, Starburst, Combos, Kudos; 2005 sales $18 billion; McLean, Virginia

Sodexho: Food service; 2005 sales $6.1 billion; Gaithersburg, Maryland

    this is the mini-micro list.

you'd only need one of their sub-contractors to buy the new freedom.

Yeah ... that ain't going to happen. Not while the layoff counter is spinning.

The others, perhaps -- and there are plenty of Borislow-types in the area who could've done exactly what he's doing. Without moving the team. Without firing everyone who knows how to run a soccer team.

I said it months ago -- no one in the area stepped up.

I've been living in the DC area since 1987, in that time only two folks ever "stepped up" regarding professional sports in this town -- Abe Pollin and Ted Leonsis. Not surprising that the former recruited the latter. Two class acts in a town desperately short of them.

What -- you're not counting Dan Snyder?

Any new updates from the club? Have they moved yet?? Was wondering why operation magicjack still remains so dark.

I think they will be so good they don't even need to practice in the preseason. Bring it on!!! But will they actually show up for a game?

I sure hope Mr. MagicJack (off?) isn't going to be this year's Jeff Cooper.

    dFree Kicks

-Several magicJack players have been playing pick-up games in Florida and the club was expected to begin training Monday. However, general manager Briana Scurry has not responded to media inquiries regarding the state of the nomadic club.

    No camp.
    No upgrade to stadium.
    No news.
    No tickets.
    No updated web site

But they do have a hell of a team.

Jeff Cooper Part II but MagicJack isn't interested in the MLS?

In the end he probably should have played the 1st season in Maryland, tested the FL market with 2 or 3 games and moved in yr 2, but we shall see.

let's keep an eye on this.

    no magicjack means no wps.

    This year, perhaps.

But if all the talk of expansion interest is true, then WPS may have a buffer in case this experiment only lasts one year.

And at this point, it's a year-by-year deal. If they get through this year, with or without MJSC, their in position to keep building for next year. It's kind of like what Marcos did with the USL, but not run by crooks.

Color me optimistic - for a start up, the WPS is looking mighty resilient. Now if they could just look like having a team drawing 15k at at DC area SSS . . .

    Good luck with that stadium.

The "off" should be added until they actually sell tickets or hold pre-season camp or something . . .

Draft pick Omolyn Davis is tweeting (Davis_soccer) about team practice, so it is happening.
