Well, if they did go for full leather they might have a chance with their range because thats a niche in the market. appleCORR
^^ just read what i wrote, i must have been drunk...'gmabler' 'im using he perfers' just seen these on ebay, going for great prices too all under £40!
I can't full remember which one is which but they are uk 8-9 if you ebay search warrior football boots they both come up
Warrior have snapped up Tim Cahill: Seems like a smart move - it gives them their first Australian player and first player in the MLS, he should get time during the World Cup and he'll be a good ambassador for them off the pitch, too.
Warrior have a great unusual marketing/look to them. But seem so slow going in doing anything or releasing anything. Seems like online shops/youtube reviews don't want to touch them either, soccerbible hasn't posted a thing about them. Only josh(sr4u) who's done a review to my knowledge. They have a strange pool of players too... by all means not bad players.. but cahill is prob nearing retirement, kompany isn't at his best, fellaini is the only current star, but with united atm not the best marketing and then there's bellamy and tom ince.. just a random selection of players, yet none of the liverpool players wear the boots?
If I was still playing 11 a side I would consider a pair k-leather and carbon fire= win! But as i play indoor now, there astro's (can't find the indoor versions') feel really cheap
I've had the futsal blitz for 7 months now and they've held up pretty well (if you see my initial post about them you can see I did mention some issues with the initial quality, though). And the tread pattern works great on the carpet turf (I would occasionally slip in my previous Adidas TFs, but haven't at all with these). And they seem very low to the ground or my foot does I mean, which I like. The only thing I don't really like about them is the multicolored lace. And that's not that big of a deal.
Yeah, I have never seen them in a uk store, but they are very similar to the adi5 range anyway. I've had the same issue with adidas indoor and when I've used adidas astro indoor, felt like butter was on the sole when I had super sala.
To me Kompany is their only real star name. Sure he might have had a problem with injuries which doesn't help anyone's form, but for me he is possibly the best centre back in the world. Against United I think he reminded a lot of people of just how good he is.
There are some Youtube bits and pieces as well as reviews out there, and SoccerBible rarely do anything with them because Pro Direct Soccer don't sell them. I imagine the things they have done have come as they're a retailer for the Liverpool kit. As for the players, I think Warrior are aiming to have a strong presence at the World Cup. If you think about brands outside of the 'big three' in the past, they've been massively under-represented at the planet's biggest footballing event. Warrior are being pretty clever by snapping up a few players that will give them World Cup representation in Cahill, Kompany, Fellaini and Gutierrez, I reckon.
Totally agree with this. GrassRouteOne might be on to something, but still, making a big deal out of signing Robbie Fowler as an ambassador (who cares?) and Tom Ince is just desperate to me. Also, who doesn't remember this commercial? It's probably the single weirdest video I've ever seen with intense music changing into dubstep with Fellaini's hair bopping. I mean, what? Actually, both the Skreamers and the Gamblers are decent boots. I reviewed the Skreamers earlier this year and quite liked them, and have been playing quite a bit in the Gamblers. I'm not too impressed with the synthetic ones, but both the K-Lite Skreamers and Gamblers are actually nice boots. I have a hard time getting used to the rather pointy Warrior last, but other than that the leather quality is great, the boots fit well and the support especially to the midfoot and heel (thanks, Murder- and Gloryholes!) is great. Studs are a little short on the Gambler, and given the stud configuration clogging of mud easily occurs which takes a lot of the grip away. To be honest, they're good, solid boots that I don't mind wearing - but nothing more. If you want to be a small specialist and challenge the Big Three a bit, you need quality products that really stand out. I don't feel that the Warriors stand out enough other than the exceptionally fitting heel - which is not enough to make people take a leap of faith and try them out - so I don't see them as more than a niche brand for the near future. Oh, and them Gloryholes. I'm gonna have a tough time explaining that name in my Unisport WebTV review... Thanks, Warrior. Thanks.
Agreed, the advert was pretty confusing - it didn't convey anything to me, personally - just a mish-mash of ideas that didn't quite come together. But that's the split in the boot market at the moment, isn't it? You can have Nike - for example: they have a couple of the world's best ad agencies on hand (as well as in-house teams of experts) who create great adverts for breakfast: remember the Zlatan/Transforming Pitch one for the Superfly? That wasn't even the main ad that season and it was ridiculously good! Whereas Warrior made the 'What Lies Within' spot on a shoestring, probably using a local agency or some freelancers. As for the 'smaller' signings like Ince and Fowler; I think they're about keeping the conversation going. Think about Umbro - they're very hot and cold, either they're doing something or they're completely dark. Warrior have managed to keep their name on boot sites consistently since their first launch, even if it's for the most minor thing. As such they can keep growing on Facebook, Twitter and the like and keep having their name crop up in places like this. Besides, they employ a PR company to keep sending out press releases and details - gotta keep them earning their money somehow! Also, to end my essay: @JayMike-DK you should have a 'Gloryhole Counter' on screen during the review that goes 'Ding' every time you have to say the word 'Gloryhole'!
Warrior are teasing a new speed boot for next week: I'm pretty excited - after the designs of the Warrior and Gambler already being pretty lightweight, I'm very curious as to what Warrior will do for a 'speed' release.
