He has been great for a couple of years now but lately he's definitely showing that he has outgrown the south american competition and he needs bigger challenges. I just don't know how well he will handle a hard challenge from the likes of John Terry, Vidic, Pepe, Ramos, Piqué, etc...... He will probably need to put some 20 pounds of muscle to handle them.

20 pounds of muscle? I don't think Ronaldo even gained that much muscle in his transformation. That big of a recomp would most likely have him lose the skills he's being valued for now. Neymar being "too slight" to play in Europe is overstated IMO, he would fine in that regard. We got a couple of players on our current roster who look like they could be the poster child for Compassion International so his build would really be the least of my worries.

He's a huge diver so he'll do well, just like Dani Alves has. Whenever i've seen him play for Santos he jumps up at the slightest touch while shacking in the air like a fish out of water.

I exaggerated a little with the 20 pounds. My apologies ma'am. Bottom line is almost everyone agrees the guy is ready for prime-time.

He's the best diver out there. He even outclasses the blaugrana APB trinity (Alves, Pedro, Busquets).

I don't know about that list... Pedro doesn't play anymore and you left off mascherano who throw himself in the air like he's been shot with 9mm anytime the ball gets in barca's final third. :D

Yeah, Mascherano is second only to Busquets. That said Mascherano doesn't even need the ball in the final third to drop in convulsions.

But you also forgot the quality flopping of Alexis Sanchez.

Exactly. This isn't American Football lol.

If he gained even 10 pounds of "muscle" (wouldn't all be muscle), it would effect speed, quickness, etc. He isn't a power sprinter/accelerator (heavier, explosive, muscular, fast), he is lighter, quick, slender and fast.

Besides, with that build when he wants to he holds off the bigger defenders. He'll be fine with that build.

    Absolute professional.

He can share his technique and secrets with Di Maria and Pepe. :ROFLMAO:

"Chelsea are not playing Catalonian hurray-football"

    -Uli Hoeneß

That's the exact way he said it. Not sure if trying to make statement against Chelsea, Barcelona, or both.

How sweet would it be if Chelsea bunkered and beat them on the counter?

    Something like 4-0 would do.

Supposed sources for Barcelona confirmed they have been scouting Borussia Dortmund, but were looking at defenders and not Mario Goetze. Mats Hummels to take over for Puyol?

(Follow up on the Mundo Deportivo story that they're in Dortmund to tap up Goetze=

Dortmund are not selling. If Barcelona assume otherwise, they are moving like ignorant fools, in which case it is good for us if they spend all summer chasing targets they can't get.

Yeah I read the interview with the Dortmund director(? I think it was) saying they wouldn't sell. I can see why as their finances must be pretty good. Amazing attendency and back-to-back league title and Champions League football.

I'd love to see Gotze at Madrid, but he just signed an extension. He seems to really be enjoying his time in Dortmund, and who can blame him. They're a quality team and will be a force in Europe if they can keep their team together.

4th in their group, 1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses. No doubt they'll do better but a force?

Also, a day in Steve Keans life

First time in the CL in a very long time. They have tons of young and relatively inexperienced players at this stage.

Geez, people seem to forget that before the past two seasons, we were stuck in a 5-year slump of not getting out of the round of 16.

Bayern down 3-1 at half-time. Can't really see them coming back from this. Dortmund really have their number this year.

Lewandowski tortured their backline. Made me wish our team had a target man to throw in when we need him.
